One thing for sure and for certain is that God will not send me a deficit!! Nor will God send me someone that I had to shrink or shift to be with.

I am a woman who lives at the intersection of this AND that NOT this OR that!

I didn't have to choose between being a girlboss and embracing my soft girl era. As a Black woman, I can be both powerful and gentle, ambitious and tender, a lover, and a leader!

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I release my attachment to everything that no longer serves me. I deserve to be happy and free.

Last week, someone said to us, "ya'll, look like a strong Black couple." We smiled and said,"Thanks."

Ya'll, I'm the girl post divorce that swore all I needed was God, family, and my great girlfriends because I swore with them, I could do anything!

I was footloose and fancy free and living a great single life, crushing all my goals!

Then, boom, God throws me a curve ball. A longing for partnership. I'm like, what?!?!

Fast forward, this guy is my person. ❤️ truly Heaven sent.

And, yes, we are a strong Black couple.

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the USA commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from Great Britain.

Today, we should also commemorate our independence from some things: toxic relationships, people, addiction, etc. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

This year I took a leap of faith and started a college scholarship in the name of my grandmother, Sara Jane Gary!

My grandmother never went to college. However, her home was always filled with love, light and Jesus Christ. My grandparents were foster parents to well over 30 children.

My grandmother never joined a sorority but she embodied the essence of a Sigma woman. She exuded the characteristics of sisterhood, scholarship and service. ❤️

Yesterday, I get to award an extraordinary young lady with a scholarship funded by me through the Iota Chi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
