The Official MC TNOC page Tom "MC TNOC" McLoughlin is an American Hip Hop and Drum & Bass MC who was born in Bridgeport, CT in early 1981.
Growing up in the greater NYC metropolitan area, McLoughlin was captivated by the sounds and culture of the late 80's / early 90's NYC Hip Hop golden era. By age 12 he started writing his own lyrics, a skill he honed for the next several years. By age 19, McLoughlin was already performing live shows for both Drum n' Bass and Hip Hop. He worked closely with long time friend DJ B-Spaz and joined th
e group "The Collective", who ran a long time weekly drum n' bass event in New Haven. In 2003, he self-released his debut album "Lyricism 101" on his own record label Abstract Traxx. In 2004, McLoughlin was one of the founding members of another drum n' bass quartet "The Dream Team", who performed heavily at a multitude of venues all over the Northeast US. In mid-2005, McLoughlin shifted the primary focus of Abstract Traxx to producing and promoting live music events. Over the course of the following four years, McLoughlin went on to host some of the most innovative and memorable independently produced music events of that era and arguably- in New England history. He threw many of these events alone, but also collaborated on amazing events with fellow promoters Columns Of Knowledge, Atari Safari, Volume Productions, and more. As Abstract Traxx, McLoughlin was primarily known for booking DJs playing electronic dance music at multi room "Rave" events. He went on to book some of the biggest names in the industry, at the national and international level. However, the events he planned and promoted had many more elements that made them unique. McLoughlin booked well known pioneers of Hip Hop as well as live electronica / jam bands. Notable acts booked included DJ Evil Dee of the hip hop group Black Moon, DJ Grandwizzard Theodore (the inventor of the scratch), DJ Grandmaster Caz (first to DJ and MC together), The Original DJ Tony Tone of legendary pioneering hip hop group The Cold Crush Brothers and Dinco D. of The Leaders Of The New School. In early 2009, McLoughlin took an indefinite hiatus from throwing events and doing live performances. Around the same time McLoughlin founded The Requirements, a live and electronic hip hop mash up band. The group went on to record a 6 song EP titled "A Tough Act To Follow", before splitting up. Over the following 6 years, McLoughlin took an extended leave of absence from the music scene while his children were small. In mid 2015, McLoughlin released his sophomore LP as MC TNOC, titled Poetically Incorrect and self-released on his own label Abstract Traxx. MC TNOC resumed performing a handful of live gigs and Abstract Traxx began hosting live events again on a periodic basis. In 2016 as MC TNOC, McLoughlin collaborated on a studio recording of his all original vocals over an old school Jump Up style Drum and Bass DJ set by longtime friend and fellow performing musician Brian "B-Spaz" Macisco, titled "It's Been A Long Time Coming". In 2017 as Abstract Traxx, McLoughlin co-founded the last legally grandfathered afterhours live music event at a permanent venue in CT, called "The Room" along with longtime friend and fellow performing musician Jan " DJ Science" Capoziello as the event promoter Scientific Sound. The Room ran several highly successful one-off events over the course of the following months before ultimately opting to shutter the series due to issues with the venue. The last Abstract Traxx event was in 2019 and they have not announced any plans for post COVID events at this time. MC TNOC has also returned to an indefinite hiatus from live performances and has made no indications he is planning any future gigs. Currently, McLoughlin has been primarily focused on writing new original songs. Occasionally McLoughlin shares a short video clip of ideas he is working on via his social media channels, but he has been largely quiet about any concrete plans at this point. McLoughlin has indicated in the past that he plans on recording a third studio album in the future, but has yet to offer up a timeline or details.

This Tuesday I finally got to catch up with one of my oldest, closest, friends at the brand new at 2965 Main St Stratford CT. My love and I went to get some new ink and check out the new location of FTS Gallery! Got a motherboard tearing through the skin on the top side of my left forearm, original artwork by George drawn on the spot and directly onto my skin!
When we were younger, George and I chilled together constantly! Me and George chilled together so much that he adopted the nickname "PlusOne" because he came to so many of my gigs with me! ๐ To be able to watch him grow from a talented young artist into the highly driven and successful tattoo artist and entrepreneur that he is today has been nothing short of an amazing journey! To say I am proud of how far he has come would be an understatement. If you are in the Stratford, CT area and looking to get a tattoo and/or check out an awesome art gallery, stop down at the new FTS Gallery and ask for and tell 'em sent ya! ๐
