We’ve had lots of people ask about our LEGO set up, so I thought I’d share it here. We used scrap wood to build the brick shelves that also function as k***s for doors that swing open for more internal shelving. After storing pieces in a rolling cart for years, we recently switched to larger slide out bins that nest nicely under the shelves. A 3D printed mini fig wall and LED lights add fun finishing touches 💫

What goes into making a door? A good design, some hardware, and a lot of clamps. After finishing the framing, drywall, mud, trim, and flooring for this new home gym - the fun could really begin. The clients wanted a more upscale take on the classic sliding barn door and I had a great time building this 48" custom piece.

There's just something about cedar. I love how the grain and coloration makes every piece unique and unrepeatable. And don't even get me started on the smell... 🤤

This 7" bowl will always be special to me. It was made from a single log that I sourced from a tree on my land and was one of the first pieces I ever turned on the lathe. I shared it to a couple woodworking pages where it gained an overwhelming amount of attention and praise. The process of creating and sharing this bowl was the beginning of new chapter in my woodworking journey. It was given as a gift to my parents in the fall of 2020.

Concept: This piece was inspired by a family heirloom 8-point star quilt. Wood was stained to match the original quilt blocks. Inscription on suede is attached to the front and reads, "In loving memory of Joe & Mary Helmuth."
