I did a thing for my program. And although I cried like a baby while writing and creating this- I know my brother would be proud of me.

Here’s an excerpt:

“The Birth and Rise of Jersey Club Music

Jersey Club music, a vibrant and energetic genre, emerged from Newark, New Jersey, in the early 2000s (some would prove sooner).

This musical movement was deeply influenced by Baltimore Club and Chicago House Music, blending the infectious rhythms and raw beats of these predecessors to create a distinct sound that has since captivated audiences worldwide.

The genre’s inception can be traced back to pioneering producers such as Mike V, Black Mic, Tim Dolla, and DJ Tameil.

These trailblazers were instrumental in shaping the signature style of Jersey Club, characterized by its fast-paced beats, chopped vocals, and bass-heavy tracks. Mike V and DJ Tameil, in particular, are often credited with laying the foundational elements of the genre, but I would be remiss if I didn’t highlight some heavy hitters who made a massive impact, such as Nadus, DJ Loki, DJ Jayhood, DJ Sick, and DJ Fresh.

Newark, NJ, during this era, was a city grappling with significant economic and social challenges. Yet, amidst the turbulence, Jersey Club music and dance emerged as a powerful force for community cohesion and expression.

The city’s youth found solace and a sense of identity through the pulsating beats and communal dance gatherings. These events provided an escape and a means of positive expression during some of Newark’s most difficult times.”

My mission is to help them find a healthy balance, showing that they can pursue their art while managing life’s responsibilities.

I have found that being honest about my personal experiences has been a key factor in my current career success. Despite the expectations that come with being in the industry and the rules on how a ‘professional’ should show up, I have always remained true to self, and I believe that’s what resonates most.

As a Mental Health Expert and Mother in the music industry, I know firsthand the challenges that women face. And being married to a musician gives me even more insight. Whew!

As a creative when you’re juggling multiple roles, it can be overwhelming. Now cue in the anxiety, depression, creative blocks, artistic stagnation, and touring. Having gone through similar struggles and/or witnessing them firsthand allows me to offer not just empathy but practical strategies that work. It’s like having a backstage pass to overcome those hurdles.

I say all of this to say, ‘Thank You’ for seeing me. I am so grateful to everyone who has rocked with me over the years: attending my workshops, watching my IG lives, sharing my posts, joining my holistic practice as a member, or simply walking up to me during a show to express how I’ve helped you from a distance.

As we look ahead to Q2, I’m excited about the growth, joy, abundance, and success that awaits my clients.

As I get older, I find that I'm gaining wisdom and shedding old patterns and ideologies that no longer serve me. It's a transformative experience that can be both exciting and a little scary. But this new year, I'm embracing the stillness, the quietness, and the boldness that come with it.

Recently, I asked myself a tough question that I think we all should ask ourselves every once in a while: "What am I willing to lose to live a life on my terms?" It was a revealing experience that brought up some uncomfortable feelings, but ultimately, I'm willing and ready to take the risk and walk the path.

I used to believe that the grind was the only way that I would reach success, but I've learned that hitting pause and taking a breather is where the information and the success I desired rested. I am so grateful! And you know what? It's brought me the most peace, abundance, and wins than I ever imagined. Because when you make choices that are soul-fully right for you - everything else follows naturally. I can't wait to teach more on this.

So what's next for me? Soon, I’ll be packing my bags for Mexico 🇲🇽 and I couldn't be more excited for this next chapter.
