Let's talk about this photo. It's cute, except it's not. I see a dog who cannot get up without telling the child to get off. How do you think a dog is going to do that?

The 7 Golden Toddler Dog Rules:
#1: If a dog walks away from you, you DO NOT FOLLOW.
#2: Always leave room for the dog to walk away from you.
---that right there is 90+% of dog bites eliminated---
#3: We do not climb on the dog.
#4: We do not grab or pull on the dog.
#5: We do not hit or throw anything at the dog.
#6: We do not touch the dog's food.
#7: We do not go into the dog's kennel.

I promise these are not overly difficult concepts for littles, nor will they rob a kid of their bond with the family dog. It will deepen that bond, while keeping everyone safe.

"Oh, it looks like Moose is walking away from you. She is saying she wants a break. Let's play with this instead!"

"It's Moose's dinner time! Let's give her space to enjoy her yummies."

"That is Moose's room(kennel) and only she is allowed to go in there."

"If Moose wanted a break, could she walk away from you right now? No she really couldn't. Let's move away from the play house. You can keep playing but now she can leave when she wants a break."

In conclusion, ***parent your child or your dog will do it for you, and you will not like how they do it.***

Big welcome to Panzer, who just joined the Land Shark pack! He is a 1.5 year old Doberman who was recently adopted from ACS just three weeks ago!
Panzer will be working on some basic obedience, understanding proper foundations to leash pressure using the slip lead, and learning his boundaries. 🎉

This is often seen in K9 Scent or Detection work, but we're going to use it to help build her confidence/mental toughness in the presence of other dogs by giving her a fun task to focus on. 🤌

Cooper has been working hard for the last couple months now on some puppy obedience. He's done amazing, especially in the puppy menace department. 😂

Lil Miss Ally, the 14 week American Staffordshire Terrier, after totally smashing her second training lesson today! She's working on some puppy foundations to manners & obedience, plus she's already flawless at being the heckin' cutest/sweetest. 💕

Her uncle, also, just so happens to be Trouble, the first Amstaff to ever win the Terrier Group at the Westminster Dog Show, but no big deal or nothin'. 😌

Meet THE Land Shark herself, my girl: Mako Shark 🦈

Mako (also know as Baby Shark) is my sidekick and accompanies me to many training lessons, so, if you haven't met her already, you probably will! I adopted her almost a year ago from ACS in San Antonio and it's been love ever since. This girl is, truly, my entire world, my greatest teacher, and my best friend. She dabbles in PSA (Protection Sports), AKC Rally Obedience, Scent Work, and she just started flying through Agility!

I'm looking forward to everyone getting to know her, too! She has never met a stranger, so I know she will feel the same. 😂

Hi! My name is Roa Al-Saleh and I am a dog trainer who has been solely working with dogs since I was 12.

My background with dogs started over 16 years ago with working with shelter dogs. Then, I moved to service dog/task/scent training, pet obedience, sport obedience, and behavior modification. I've worked with racing Greyhounds + breeds/drives of all shapes & sizes-- my personal dogs are a Belgian Malinois & a Chihuahua, if that says anything about me! I have, also, groomed for a number of years where I specifically took in behavioral cases to help rehabilitate their fears/feelings towards the grooming process.

Training has always been my passion and I am now offering my own in home, private training lessons in Comal County, Bexar County, and their surrounding Texas counties.
