“Good communication is the bridge between confusion and clarity.” - Nat Turner

As professionals working to improve community health, effective communication is essential. With the increased use of digital media it’s easier than ever before to send mass messages.

But it’s also easier for misinformation to spread and difficult to reach people with so much information available at their fingertips.

To cut through the noise, we like to use the 7 C’s of communication as a checklist before sending out our content. It helps us ensure we’re using the best practices to reach our audience and create meaningful connections.

We can’t stress this enough!

The foundation of communication and marketing is about connecting with people. But often times we get so focused on stuffing our copy with a ton of key words or creating the perfect design that our message gets lost.

If you find yourself feeling uninspired by your content or out of touch with your audience, take our advice: go back to the basics.

Who do you serve? What problem is your audience facing? What are their hopes and dreams? What do they enjoy doing in their free time?

Get to the nitty gritty of what characteristics make up your target audience. This way whenever you are creating content, you can know who you are speaking to and tailor your message accordingly.

Today is Juneteenth, a holiday commemorating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States. It is also a day of celebration of African American history and heritage.

As we celebrate today, let us continue to remember the health inequities that those in the Black community face due to racism. And let us also continue to work towards making our world a safe and equitable place.

Happy Juneteenth from Elevated Co!

The number one reason organizations are unsuccessful at engaging their community ⬇️

Have you ever read a post or piece of content and wondered, "what did I just read?" For many organizations, their community feels the same way.

Here are our 3 tips to better communicate with your community:

1.Be conversational! Avoid using jargon and sounding robotic. People like to feel like they're talking to another human being!

2.Be coherent! Use transitional words to help your audience follow your train of thought.

3.Be concise! Don't keep repeating the same thing over and over again. Boil down your ideas down to the key takeaway you want your audience to get.

Let us know what other tips you have 👇🏽

Don’t make this mistake ⬇️

We see it all the time: an organization is so excited to make an impact and educate their community on a health issue! With social media, they can easily get the word out with just the click of a button. But, they are disappointed when the campaign failed.

The problem is that they forgot one crucial step: planning!

A great health marketing campaign starts before you even craft the message or make the graphic. It starts with understanding the root causes of an issue.

Something may appear to be the problem but is actually just a symptom of a bigger problem. Think about it like this: you may notice that not enough women schedule their wellness exam. If you don’t plan, you may just post about the importance of scheduling a wellness exam.

However, if you dig deeper in your planning you may find that the reason certain groups of women don’t schedule their appointments is out of fear. So instead, your message should revolve around explaining what they can expect or questions to ask your doctor.

By planning, you ensure that you do your part to conduct the research in order to understand how to best help your community and get to the root of solving the problem.

Save this post for later!

He is driven by a deep passion for creating a positive influence within his community, fueled by his unwavering commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. His fascination with emergency management and natural disasters motivates him to employ his abilities in safeguarding and aiding communities during difficult times.

Please help us welcome Argenis 🥳

Start off your week by saying this phrase ⬇️

"I am making a difference!" You may not feel like it now.

But this is the truth, we need YOU to create a better world.

Think about a cake 🎂! Most cake recipes call for baking powder or baking soda. You don't taste these ingredients in the final product but they are essential to making a cake. Without them, the cake wouldn't be able to rise.

You may feel like you're not making a difference now but you are like the baking powder, without you our world would stay flat and not rise to the next level.

Let this be a reminder to you to keep going! And maybe enjoy a slice of cake 😉.

Many businesses, organizations, and foundations are making conscious efforts toward achieving greater and better social impact.

But why do we need social impact, and how does it create mutual benefit?

Social impact creates opportunities that are otherwise unavailable to minorities or the underprivileged.

These groups can get access to quality education, clean water, gender equality, or obtain decent work and thus gain economic growth, etc.

When a corporate leader is developing programs and initiatives to combat health disparities or poor quality of life, plain language communication, community assessments, and data analysis are enormous components.

Social impact also helps to create an increase of influence and a positive image for the organization.

So having a social impact and community health effort is essential to a successful business and program.
