The misconception and bad media surrounding dermal filler bothers me. When you hear “3 syringes of filler” I’m sure your first thought is a balloon face or shelf-like appearance.

Did you know the volume of one syringe of filler is the volume of a blueberry? 🫐 That’s it. Filler is used to replace volume lost with time or to fill in areas for balancing… and then also lips 👄

Take a look at the before and after above - 2 different appointments, 3 syringes of filler total. Top picture is before any treatment whatsoever; I built the framework of her lips at that first appointment with one syringe (not shown). She came back a month later and received lower face contouring to the smile lines, marionette area and prejowl jawline. I also added a little touch of filler to some stubborn creases and above her chin. One of the most stubborn shape of lip for injectors is the full inverted lip - the typical anatomy of this shape wants to curl in. As injectors we have to plan for the safe “eversion” of these lips. So, while I was able to structurally provide the foundation, our plan is for her to return for another syringe of volume in 4 weeks.

This is only the beginning! Her lips are on a journey 🙌🏼

If I could change ONE THING about this appointment, I would have recorded her reaction when she saw her new lips for the first time after injection. Tears of joy!! 🥹 I love my job!
