BCA Artist Studio Tour: Karen Cygnarowicz
Grab your favorite cozy blanket and settle in for the latest installment of our Artist Studio Tour series featuring fiber artist Karen Cygnarowicz. Exploring process and reclaimed materials in her fiber sculptures Cygnarowicz uses techniques such as “macro-weaving” (the process of combining macramé with basic elements of weaving), to reflect and react to daily experiences through material form. While touring her Montpelier studio, Cygnarowicz discusses the importance of mediation in her practice and the impact of ordinary, everyday events on the formation of her work. Creating tactile compositions defined by fields of bright color and dynamic manipulations of fiber, Cygnarowicz’s sculptures are on view now at the BCA Center in, "Texture & Response."
