Happy Thursday 🌞! It’s been a while since I introduced myself and we’ve been growing around here ⭐️🙌💕 so I wanted to take a moment today to tell you a little bit about me.

My name is Dannet and I’m the owner and creator of all things Planty’tude in Burnsville, Minnesota. I love making beautiful and inspirational items to accessorize yourself, your home, and your garden. When I’m not creating something you can find me playing in my indoor jungle of over 200 houseplants.

I started indoor gardening and creating as a form of therapy after I was diagnosed with several aggressive autoimmune disorders which severely impacted my eyes and health. At the time I thought I was given a death sentence and quite possibly becoming blind. Many rounds of chemo, many rounds of meds, 37 surgeries, many rounds of PT, and many many plants later, the real work began of creating a life worth living with my second chance to live. My eyes are currently paralyzed in most directions and I still have double vision, some days are still harder than others, however I don’t let that stop me from creating the world I want to see! Creating has always been a dream of mine which I thought was impossible given the trajectory of my life and some days it’s a still a little wild that I’m living it. Creating brings me so much happiness and joy which we hope you feel when you buy or receive our products, truly homemade with love 💚. September is National Su***de Prevention month and as a former mental health clinician I’m still very passionate about advocating for mental health. As someone who battles mental health issues herself I also understand the stigma and shame that still surrounds these issues and how it can be difficult to ask for help. One of the most important ways to combat this is to have open conversations and normalize talking about mental health. The last few years have been very difficult for many and especially isolating. If you are going through a difficult time reach out to someone and if you aren’t then be the light to someone who is and give them hope ✨🫶.

For the month of September we will be donating $1 from each inspirational bracelet sold to to help raise awareness for mental health and su***de awareness. Our inspirational bracelets are made with the idea that these will be a good visual reminder to help scatter any negative intrusive thoughts and instead focus on the thoughts that are healthier. Repeat after me “don’t give up” 💪🫶🌸.

After months of testing and tweaking our designs we are super excited that we will have our new grow trellises that grow with your plants available at the Twin Cities Houseplant event this Saturday. The event will be from 5-9pm at the 🗺📍Twin Spirits Distillery. Hope to see you there!

Happy Full Moon 🌕! If you’re as obsessed with the moon 🌙 and plants as I am, this cedar wood Moon Phase Air Plant Holder is perfect for any space. It’s also perfect for letting air circulate all around your air plant to help prevent that dreaded rot after watering 🙈🤞🏼. It also comes with a cute airplant so all you have to do is hang it up and it livens any space.

🌿Simply take your airplant every week and soak it upside down in room temperature water mixed with your favorite fertilizer for 15 min. I usually let them dry out for a little while upside down so the crown doesn’t stay wet, then plop them back in there usual spot.

Yesterdays Hot Plant Summer was 🔥! I wanted to give a big thank you to the events wonderful hosts and people who put it all together, and of course all the amazing people who attended and supported 🫶🌸💚!!!! There were so many marvelous vendors and goodies everywhere. Good music, good conversations, and good vibes flowed throughout the event making it such a delightful way to spend a Saturday afternoon 🥰. Bzzzz 🐝 we have some exciting news! As we mentioned in some of our recent posts we had previously adopted a local beehive and are excited to be able to do so again. Stay tuned for more updates about the beehive we are adopting!

Bees are extremely important to our ecosystem, they are in fact indispensable. Whenever you shop any of our bee items know that you too will be contributing to a local beehive. Without bees to pollinate many of the worlds important crops would fail and negatively impact human and animal food supplies. Factors such as pesticides, habitat loss, and climate change are contributing to the extinction of bees at an alarming rate. That is why we are working to sponsor as many beehives as we can and creating more awareness around this community issue.
