My lashes are literally coming out and I'm still at work..πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Anyway, here's a step-by-step guide to starting a hair braiding business in Minnesota:

"Step 1: Register Your Business

-Choose a business name and register it with the Minnesota Secretary of State's office.
-File for a Certificate of Assumed Name (DBA) if you're using a fictitious name.

Step 2: Obtain Licenses and Permits

- No license is required to braid hair in Minnesota, but you may need a sales tax permit if you're selling products.
- Check with your local government for any local licenses or permits required.

Step 3: Get Insured

- Consider liability insurance to protect your business in case of accidents or injuries.

Step 4: Develop a Business Plan

- Define your services, target market, and pricing.
- Create a marketing strategy and financial plan.

Step 5: Find a Location

- Choose a location that's easily accessible and meets local zoning regulations.
- Consider renting a chair in an existing salon or starting a mobile braiding business.

Step 6: Build Your Client Base

- Network with potential clients and other braiders.
- Offer discounts or promotions to build your client base.

Step 7: Follow Health and Safety Guidelines

- Follow proper sanitation and hygiene procedures.
- Use disposable needles and follow proper infection control procedures."

Remember to always check for updates and changes in regulations and laws. Good luck with your hair braiding business!

Tragedy in Makot

It's with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news that the Ethiopian National Defence Force (Makelekia) has been engaging in a prolonged conflict with innocent Nuer civilians in Makot.

This ongoing violence has resulted in unimaginable suffering and loss of life. The fact that their own government is perpetrating violence against its own citizens is a tragedy that weighs deeply on my soul.

The senseless killing of innocent people must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. We demand an immediate end to this brutality and justice for the victims and their families.

The Ethiopian government's atrocities against the Nuer people

Moreover, the Ethiopian government must acknowledge the suffering they have inflicted upon the Nuer people living in the Ethiopia-South Sudan border region.

The construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam has caused devastating water damage, rendering the land unsuitable for farming.

The dam's contaminated water has also led to the death of livestock and widespread sickness among the people.

Furthermore, the Awero Dam (also known as the Abobo Dam) has blocked the natural flow of fish, depriving the Nuer people of a vital source of food and livelihood.

The government's inaction and lack of support for the affected communities are appalling.

The Ethiopian government's actions against the Nuer are unacceptable and must be addressed immediately. The violence in Makot and the suffering caused by the dams are clear violations of human rights and dignity.

Congratulations on completing your thesis, Nephew. I am beyond proud of your achievement and the incredible hard work that went into it. You are intelligent, strong, and resilient, just like Nyekier. They would be beaming with pride if they were here to see you reach this milestone. Though they may not be physically present, I know they are watching over you from above, as well as your father. May they rest in peace.

I went to The Mall of America today and purchased a dress thinking that I would go to a party in Mankato, Minnesota, but I forgot that my baby doesn't take bottle milk. What a waste of my money!

I wish we could switch overnight gatherings to daytime ones, because then I could have a babysitter watch my little one while I attend the party. It would be so much easier!

I want to share a story about my uncle, John Luoth, who did something truly remarkable.

John traveled to Africa with his wife and children, embarking on a new adventure.

Not only did John marry a second wife, but he also took his first wife and children with him, showing incredible inclusivity and respect.

By doing so, John's children will learn about our culture and the tradition of polygamy, which is a valuable part of our heritage. They will understand that having multiple wives is a normal and accepted practice in our communities

I wish more South Sudanese men would follow John's lead, prioritizing unity, love, and cultural education in their personal lives.

John Luoth, you're an inspiration! Your approach to life is a shining example of what it means to be a responsible and loving husband, father, and member of the community.β€β€β€πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
