Customer appreciation PSA... Brands don’t have much control over how their products are priced at retail. Ultimately the markup to shoppers is the store’s choice, and your choice where to shop. But FYI, Whole Foods Market sells our mixes up to 50% more than Sprouts, Thrive Market and even celebrity-loved Erewhon Market. We’ve never raised our wholesale prices to their distributors despite cost inflation. We did however give them a plug on National TV 😳. When I was on Shark Tank I shared we are in Whole Foods Market! After an hour of talking to the sharks the show edits into 8 minutes, and “Whole Foods Market” made the cut. They rarely keep retail names in, and encourage you to say “local shop” or “national grocer” instead. But I was so nervous I could barely remember my name let alone anything else! You’re welcome Whole Foods 🤷‍♀️ We innovated a fresh snack revolution to give you easy, customizable, nutritious clean snacks at nearly half the price of premade. A fun flashback 🤓 Product development, especially a new category, looks simple and effortless once it’s done. But it’s usually years in the making and many sleepless nights that go into the brand messaging, hierarchy, photography, look, size & shape, FDA requirements, where it will be merchandised, not to mention the recipes! Agencies ask upwards of $50,000 but that’s not always doable if you’re a bootstrapped startup. This is a highlight reel. If we rebrand I’ll be sure to share the in-depth process!
