Helping Hearts Counseling Center, PLLC
The environment is warm, welcoming and most of all FUN!
Helping Hearts provides a unique environment where counseling services can be accessed in a safe & sanitary environment for children and families impacted by cancer or a life-threatening diseases.
I am a clinical therapist and mother of my beloved son, Titus Maize Ponder, who passed away from complications during a leukemia relapse in 2019.
Myself and two graduate interns are working on a qualitative research project to gain insight and understanding into the grief process for parents who have lost a child. The information shared will remain 100% confidential, it will only utilized to help us inform how to create a program(s) to better meet the needs of grieving and bereaved parents.
Our hope is to create a multitude of programs which would address all forms of childhood loss, not just cancer, or the loss of a young child, but also parents who have lost an adult child through any means. Please let me know if you or someone you know would be interested in participating in the interview.
Also, if you or someone you know is interested, please submit a request to be a friend on Helping Hearts Counseling Center PLLC. Once your request has been accepted, you can then join the private group Full Circle Giving.
I hope you will choose to join us, as your personal story carries great power to heal, both yourself, and others.
Many Blessings, Amber Ponder 🙏

Hard days work for us at Helping Hearts Counseling Center, PLLC
Helping Hearts Counseling is honored to introduce the newest member of the Hearts Family.
Meet Mr. Maize Ponder, our beloved emotional support therapy dog (service dog in training) for Helping Hearts Counseling Center.
Maize spends his days at the center loving on clients, receiving treats, snuggling up on children & fetching ball during lunch! He has been a happy addition to our family & loves welcoming each of you. We know you will love Maize; he is eager to support you emotionally, and your interactions help him train for a greater purpose.
In 2019, we planted the seed for The Maize Foundation; established to honor the memory of our son, Titus Maize Ponder. Maize was named after our son & has been bestowed the honorary title of "The Mascot for Life." The Maize Foundation is a non-profit foundation, solely devoted to provide support for families & children impacted by cancer, or any life threatening illnesses. We look forward to establishing non-profit status for The Maize Foundation in 2022.
In 2017, my mom and I began working my vision to start a foundation to help children and families battling cancer. On November 20th, 2019 I relapsed. I made my mom promise me she would take care of the business. She cried and insisted we would do it together, but my BIG soul knew something she didn't, I was dying. In the end, she promised me she would "take care of the business." She is keeping her promise, and Helping Hearts Counseling Center will be opening in December. We are excited to have the opportunity to help others, just like I had dreamed. My mom is also busy setting up The Maize Foundation and found our mascot for the foundation yesterday. I cannot wait for her to reveal all the exciting changes coming soon.
