You may have become aware of news regarding Pruneyard Cinemas/Cedar Room and its landlord, Regency Centers, at The Pruneyard. We’re sharing this past Wednesday's NBC Bay Area news segment summarizing our situation. Pruneyard Cinemas and Cedar Room have been pillars of entertainment in Campbell, but our future is at risk, due in large part, to unreasonable and unresponsive actions from our landlord, Regency Centers. Why We Need Your Help: The COVID-19 pandemic caused theater closures and revenue drops. Last year’s film industry strikes disrupted film production, and Regency Centers has enforced a lease that leaves us paying disproportionately high rent compared to cinemas throughout the US. Despite these challenges, we've adapted with live stand-up comedy nights, live music, culinary cinemas, and Queen Bingo at Cedar Room. But that is not enough. The Current Situation: Regency Centers has refused to negotiate necessary lease adjustments for our sustainability. How You Can Help: We encourage you to watch this newscast.
