What a special treat it was getting to do this lil guy’s newborn photos. I had the pleasure of photographing his parents engagement, wedding, maternity, and now his newborn photos throughout the past several years. Not sure if I can say there’s anything much better than getting to capture so many major life events in my clients lives. It’s an honor and a privilege and I’m very grateful they trusted me with all those exciting milestones. It truly warms my heart

I just wanted to take a second and say thank you again to my wonderful clients. It’s only been two short days since I have gone back to work and already God has proven to be so faithful. I am so incredibly excited to share with you all upcoming shoots on the schedule. God is good and my heart is so full. Also stay tuned for an exciting announcement🤍

After taking several weeks off to spend time in community with friends and loved ones and focusing on myself, today marks the first day I’m officially “back in the office” and taking on clients again. Hey there. So as some of you may have noticed I’m back in Pittsburgh now. I absolutely loved Nashville and it was a wonderful place to live, but also as some of you know at this point I am going through a divorce. The details I don’t feel would be appropriate to explain on social media, but I wanted to give y’all a little update that yes I am in fact back in Pittsburgh again and no, I’m no longer married. Obviously this season has been difficult, but the Lord is so faithful and I am so incredibly grateful for the support and my community that has made the transition so much easier than it would have been had I done it on my own. I love you all so dearly and Nashville I’ll miss you, but I’ll be back to visit again I’m sure :)

Gonna brag on my bride for a second here. This woman made, from scratch, her wedding dress and all of her bridesmaids shawls… Someone teach me how to sew because it’s a skill I’ve always wanted to acquire. I actually have had this idea for years for a Jolie Boutique where clients can rent outfits designed by moi. However, I can’t sew so that idea is still very much in the works.

Headed back to Nashville today! Feeling particularly grateful this morning for my clients and my friends and family. It’s always nice coming up to Pittsburgh and getting to shoot with some of my original clientele and see family, but I’m missing Caleb and the lattes he makes me so I think it’s time to head back. 🤍

Starting the morning off with which will be my first time ever doing yoga with goats and then driving up to Pittsburgh for a wedding! My sisters warned me it would be very cold there this weekend so I brought my three warmest coats. I always feel bad for my brides when they’re shivering in the cold in their spaghetti strapped dresses while I have layer upon layer upon layer keeping me warm. But I guess when you have a winter wedding in Pittsburgh that is to be expected.

Can someone explain to me whether or not Galentine’s Day is it’s own separate day, or is it just celebrated on Valentine’s Day? Lmk thanks! ♥️

It’s a messy bun kinda day. Trying to get caught up on editing and contracts and all that fun stuff I can do from the comfort of my couch. 💁🏼‍♀️

I’m afraid to announce I’ve tested positive for baby fever… Some days I’m like yeah I could be good waiting a few more years, and other days I’m like I want a baby NOWWWWW.

Just patiently waiting for this girl to release her next single because she sent it to me via email and I can only listen to it when my phone is open and doesn’t shut off and I’ve been waiting to listen to it in the car on Apple Music so I’m able to use my nav too while vibing to it. She’s the next bille eilish in case you were wondering :)

2020 and 2021 weren’t easy years for Jolie Studios. And I know I’m not speaking for just myself when I say that. I moved 600 miles away with no money in savings during the height of the pandemic while everyone was quarantining and basically had to start from scratch with building my clientele up again. Although it’s been hard and has felt hopeless many times, looking back I feel a deep sense of fulfillment in the work I have been doing. It’s hard to see it when you’re in it, but the past two years I’ve grown my business from part-time to full-time and met so many new wonderful people and repeat clients. And going into 2022 I’m already starting to see the fruits of my labor. I’m feeling hopeful for the future of Jolie Studios and because of that I wanted to make this post. (1) to hopefully inspire others that might be feeling overwhelmed or hopeless and (2) to remind myself on the hard days that it is worth it and the hard work does pay off eventually if you stick with it. I’ve been doing photography for 7 years now and sometimes that motivates me because I see how far I’ve come, and other times it frustrates me when I’m not where I want to be. Being an entrepreneur is hard work and being a photographer is hard work (especially when we live in a society where everyone is a photographer with their iPhones and portrait mode). There’s days that are disheartening, and if that’s you just remember that’s normal, but you’ll be just fine if you remain patient and keep working towards the photographer you want to be. Have confidence in yourself, your expertise, your prices, your talent, and the precious art you provide.

All I think when I see this picture is Taylor Swift singing “keep your eye-eyes open.” Anyone know what I’m evening talking about or nope?
