I reached out to both our EMS and Law Enforcement Departments to get their opinions on these decals. If they pulled up to a vehicle with a decal like this, would it change how they approach vehicles?? And their answers were YES! Both departments stated that this was a good idea that they don't see things like this. It would be a game changer for sure.

I've created two types of decals... #1- states what exactly child has such as Autism. It's very blunt in saying that the child will not talk to you and may run.. BE READY! Then decal #2- I personally have this decal on my vehicle now. I purposely didn't state what need my child has, I didn't state that she will be nonverbal or run, but that she may become emotional or respond differently. In some way it keeps predators from knowing ALL the details but gives the Emergency Service world an idea of what to expect. BOTH are acceptable, BOTH are ok to have.
I currently have mine on the back of my window, the hatch window, so it's not saying which child has the needs, again for predator purposes. But it still allows EMS and Law Enforcement to approach the vehicle with awareness. BUT there is no wrong placing this decal on your child's window either. Again, there is no wrong. This is simply protecting your person with needs in the case of accident, an emergency, or let's face it... in the moment the police officer is reminding you with that ticket that you are driving home way too fast 🤪.
