As a nurse of sixteen years and then a Certified Nurse Midwife and Nurse Practitioner for the past seven, I am the one who provides the loving care so many people need. Now, I am the one in desperate need of healing. I am happy to provide updates and answer questions relevant to my health. Sadly, Long Covid isn’t something you hear of often, but 80 million Americans have been diagnosed.
I have seen 20 providers since May 23, 2024, and the Neuro providers I’ve been in contact with at The Cleveland Clinic believe Covid entered my Central Nervous System/brain when I had the car accident in November, 2019. I never know what ailments I’ll endure as each hour is different: thus, I am living hour-to-hour. Some days my heart rate varies from 40 beats per minute to 150 bpm and my oxygen saturation will unexpectedly drop to 78%. Then, my legs may give out unexpectedly or my arms will turn inwards and contract in severe pain without any warning. I’m unable to walk a quarter mile without having symptoms of a heart attack and I have had 3 TIAs or mini-strokes in the last 7 weeks.

This tree is super cool!! It is two trees in one! It started out as a palm tree and soon a “hitchhiker” tree attached itself to it. It’s hard to tell where one begins and another ends. So many corny comparisons could be made here but I’ll refrain. I’m constantly reminded of the beauty of nature.

My ever changing daughter. Rarely will you see her with the same hair or makeup (when she does it) She has always been so easy going, tuned into everyones emotions, lover of art, compassionate, fiercely independent, lover of all breathing creatures, loyal, caring, sweet yet feisty if pushed, she is very appreciative of all things great and small ( of which she reminds me every time we chat, talk or see each other) I do believe God gave me the perfect child for me. If you are lucky enough to have a daughter, you know that some bonds can never be broken and with time the strength and bond changes into a friendship. I’m so grateful for you little one.

So my youngest niece came to stay with us for 11 nights. I had to work so we packed in just a few fun things. I think seeing her cousins and going out on the boat was her favorite. Well maybe seeing her grandma or friend Willa might have been..or the outlet mall…or the Menchies for dinner. I’m grateful for a husband that’s as accommodating and welcoming as I am. I’ve always loved a full house❤️ As much as I hated to see her go I know she’s happy to be home and back into her mama and daddy’s arms. ( and maybe big sisters too) She’s 12 and she towers over Olivia and I ….sigh

Learning portion control has always been my issue.
