The weather looks good for tomorrow! So the 2023 fly-in is ON! Can’t wait to see you all there!
Let’s try one more time! Weather tomorrow has us postponing again- Sunday July 23rd from 7:30-11am!!!! Fingers crossed for better sunny skies!
2023 FLY-IN at Spurwink Farm has postponed from tomorrow(7/9) to NEXT Sunday July 16th due to weather. We hope to see you there from 7:30am-11am!
Spurwink Farm in Cape Elizabeth is hiring motivated, self starters for spring and summer positions for daily care of 40 boarded horses overlooking Higgins Beach and Spurwink River.
Beginning sometime between April-June through the end of August (September is a plus!), with the possibility for one permanent position. We give all staff the option of a weekend day off so at least one weekend day is required.
Need commitment through end of August to get us through two staff members maternity leave! 😊
Daily responsibilities include cleaning of stalls and paddocks, feeding and turnout, care and first aid, fence building/repairs, and general property maintenance. There may be some riding opportunities available to the right individual.
Farm equipment, haying, or horse experience is a plus but not required. We are able to train individuals who are willing to learn and have a good work ethic. However reliability and own transportation is essential!
We can be flexible with hours and personal schedules but here is what we’re looking for to be filled by the end of May:
1 part time person Friday’s and Saturday’s
1 part time person Sunday’s and Monday’s
1 full time person Sunday through Thursday’s
1 full time person Tuesday’s through Saturday’s
We promise your days will never be the same and full of adventures!
Please contact Christina Mitchell if interested!

We have been getting quite a few inquiries lately about board openings, unfortunately we are completely full for the foreseeable future. If you’d like to get on our waiting list please contact Christina, but we are currently looking out past 2023 at the moment for both year round and seasonal.
We will be posting soon about spring/summer employment openings!

Happy 4th of July!!!
We’re all safely latched in our stalls tonight with the doors closed and fans on for white noise in the event of fireworks! What does everyone else do in their barns?
Today’s excitement brought to you by this momma deer who decided to give birth to her TRIPLETS in the pasture- with horses out grazing.
Horses came off grass a bit early and Shoshanna Rose got a couple pictures! Giving them as much peace and quiet as possible on this busy property but we’ll check if they’ve moved on in the morning!
Here we go! Hay season has begun with some first cut cow hay to test everything out! Thank you Nate and George for getting us going! 🍾🚜👩🌾👨🌾🌾🌾
