While warfare has spread in Ukraine, so has the Gospel. Don't miss our MissionFest tomorrow, Sunday, 7/14: At 9:00 Pastor Roger Neumann will present the successes and challenges of our Ukrainian Lutheran Church (ULC). Then Pastor Neumann will serve as our preacher. Finally, stick around after church for a delicious meal. May the Lord graciously bring about peace from warfare, along with ultimate peace--settled consciences and an eternal future in Jesus Christ.

Merciful God,
We live in an anxious world, a world that is filled with terrors. Wars and rumors of wars, injustice and oppression, violence and degradation, depression and despair, disease, disaster, and death - all these surround us in this broken world and even invade our own lives. There is so much that is out of our control, so much suffering and sadness, so much uncertainty, so much that troubles our hearts. We cry out to you: Lord, have mercy!
And you are merciful! In mercy, you sent your one and only Son to bear the world’s sin, shed his priceless blood, and win forgiveness for all! In mercy, even in a fallen world, you provide us richly with blessings for body and soul. You care for our bodies, providing all that we need to sustain life, and so much more. You watch over our lives turning even difficult days into eternal blessings. In mercy, you richly provide for our souls. You give us your powerful Word and sacraments through which your Spirit works to create and strengthen faith in human hearts. You provide us with pastors and teachers and other ministers, loving parents, and faithful friends who lead us to your Word, direct our eyes to your Son’s cross, and remind us of your gracious promises. Though we have earned nothing but your anger, you continually shower us with blessings beyond what we can ask for or imagine. Truly, you are a gracious and merciful God!
In your Word, you give us these wise instructions: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6). Though we live in a broken, terrifying, and anxious world, we know that you are with us. Sooth our anxious hearts with your promises. Calm our worrying minds with your unshakeable love. Move us by your Spirit to approach your throne of grace with confidence, to bring to you our every care and concern, to offer you prayers and petitions in every situation of life, and to trust that you always hear and answer for our good.
On this great day of national Thanksgiving, fill our hearts with gratitude for your blessings, praise for your promises, and boldness to declare your saving name before a world that desperately needs the good news of your forgiving love. In Jesus’ name and with thankful hearts, we ask this. Amen.
Treasure: in heaven and in God's eyes
Our treasure lies in heaven, thanks to the salvation won for us by Jesus' life and death on the cross. We have eternal life with God waiting for us! It is the absolute joy of Branch Schools to share this Good News to over 1,100 students in Haiti. Each and every child at Branch Schools learns that they have a priceless treasure in heaven--and that they are treasures in God's eyes, as God says in Isaiah 43:4: "You are precious in My eyes."
These treasured children are beloved members of the Branch Schools family--and our family is growing! Enrollment this year is higher than ever before, and we continue to thank and praise God for these blessings. With your help, the family can grow even bigger.
Director Boursiquot recently shared with us that 62 children are eager to attend Branch Schools at his campus. These children are from the surrounding community in Carrefour who may have gone to Branch Schools in the past or are otherwise connected. Unfortunately, all 62 children are currently unable to attend any school in Haiti, including Branch Schools. Due to their families' financial situations, they cannot afford the necessary clothes and supplies.
The list of materials below shows everything these students need to attend school. With these items, all 62 students can finish this school year--they could even be sitting on Branch Schools' benches next week!
Thanks to you, this Scholarship Fund will provide the necessary supplies for these children to come to school. Just $64 can pay for one student to finish the current academic year, where they will read God's Word and learn that they, too, have a treasure in heaven. $3,969 will fund the entire group of 62 students. Can we fund all 62 students before the next school week begins?
If you give $64, you can open the door for a child to enter Branch Schools equipped with clean clothes, shoes, and school supplies. You can also provide individual items--a shirt for $13, a pair of shoes for $15, etc. The full list is included below.
Donations made via Facebook will go toward this Scholarship Fund; you can also specify the Fund on a check or online at our website. Any donations that we receive beyond $3,969 will stay in the Scholarship Fund for next year, to continue supplying children in need with their school supplies.
THANK YOU for opening your hearts to these treasured children of God!

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
Acts 2:1-4
God continues to send his Holy Spirit to believers today. Each time we gather at church we might not hear a strong wind, or have little flames over our head, or listen to our pastor speaking in different languages, but we can be sure the Holy Spirit is there. The Spirit is working to create and strengthen faith through the Word of God that is being proclaimed. Even though at times we might be afraid or hesitant to tell others about Jesus, he gives us the courage. Be brave, be bold, and be excited to share the news that Jesus is risen!

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
1 John 3:16 "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers."
2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is God-breathed, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness."
Colossians 3:16 "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish each other with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God."
