Colorful, transitional, timeless, relaxed, luxurious
Walnut Creek, CA I even learned how to garden! Thank you for stopping by!
During the lock-downs, I took on the challenge of designing and managing the remodel of my kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, and dining room expansion. As vaccines became available, I considered returning to work, but couldn't find a position or company that fit my lifestyle as a busy mom. After consulting with a colleague, we decided to start our own interior design and consulting firm, Collected Int
✨ We’re excited to share one of our standout projects: a recent bathroom remodel in San Francisco!
Our client requested touches of pink or terra cotta, and we dove straight into Pinterest for inspiration. Our goal was to incorporate these vibrant hues without overwhelming the space or making the design feel dated in the years to come.
🎨 Here’s how we balanced boldness with classic elegance:
1️⃣ Classic Touches: We integrated brass lighting, plumbing fixtures, and hardware to give the design a timeless and luxurious feel. Brass adds a warm, sophisticated touch that complements various color schemes. We also proposed a polished nickel finish as a subtler, more versatile alternative.
2️⃣ Design Options: Understanding that bright colors can be daunting, we crafted two design options for our client:
Design Option A: pink accents in a sophisticated manner. We suggested incorporating pale pink walls, which can be easily repainted in the future, pink-accented art, or white towels with embroidered pink trim.
Design Option B: Elegant Calacatta Gold marble throughout the bathroom and shower, paired with a white oak vanity. This option highlighted the classic beauty of marble while keeping the room feeling fresh and refined.
🖼️ By incorporating small elements of color and maintaining a balanced approach, we ensured the room felt relaxing and timeless.
The key is to add personality through details like soap dishes or artwork with accent colors, making the space feel alive and inviting.
These conceptual designs were made with AI. Follow along and visit our website to see the progress on this bathroom remodel.

AI offers a fast, cost-effective way to visualize and perfect your design ideas. It opens up endless possibilities and ensures we have a solid starting point for your dream space.
Sometimes, words and sketches alone can’t fully capture your vision. That’s where AI renderings come into play!
🤖 With AI, we can generate realistic renderings based on detailed descriptions. For example, in a recent bathroom remodel, we used a description like: white oak vanity, marble countertop, gold mirror, pink hexagon floor tile, white marble tiles in the shower, gold showerhead, and white walls.
🚿 The result? Four stunning images we can refine and adapt to match your exact preferences.
💭 Every new project with us begins with a detailed questionnaire to understand your unique vision and needs. Once we’ve reviewed your answers, we dive into researching inspiration images that reflect your design style and functional requirements.
We meticulously select our favorites and narrow them down for you in our Concept Presentation.
✨ Welcome to Collected Interiors, your go-to interior design studio in Walnut Creek, California! We specialize in crafting timeless, colorful, and luxurious homes and furnishings that are not only stunning, but also durable and practical for everyday life.

🚀✨ AI is revolutionizing interior design, book art, architectural renderings, and more! If you can dream it, AI can bring it to life.
Why the buzz? 🤔 AI is faster and more cost-effective than traditional methods. Think about it: 3D software like SketchUp and Chief Architect can set you back hundreds of dollars annually. And that’s before you even factor in additional costs for rendering tools or hiring professionals.
The tech grind doesn’t stop there. You’ll spend hours learning the software, managing high-end computer specs, and navigating hefty files just to get a glimpse of what you envision. And when you finally get around to pricing out a 3D rendering for a project? It’s often too steep for most budgets.
Enter AI interior design rendering! 🎨🌟 Is it flawless? Not quite. We might need to tweak things in reality, but AI gives us a fantastic starting point.
Here’s the real talk:
1️⃣ Where can you buy the items shown in AI renderings?
The truth: They're not real. We use them to explore colors and styles, but actual research and pricing are done separately.
2️⃣ Is there enough space around the shower or between the toilet and vanity?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. These images give us a general idea, but we review plans to ensure everything fits perfectly in reality.
3️⃣ Construction restrictions – Can I actually build that?
It might look stunning, but we need to consider structural and practical limitations, like window heights and niche sizes, to ensure the design is feasible.
In essence, AI is an incredible tool for initial design concepts. It helps us convey ideas to clients with ease. As an interior designer, translating my vision into client-ready concepts is key, and AI is a game-changer.

In this remodel in Concord, California, we designed a stunning new kitchen featuring a spacious layout and a vibrant aqua-colored backsplash tile that adds a delightful pop of color.
Both the primary and guest bathrooms were reimagined with fresh layouts, elegant marble-look porcelain tiles, and subtle blue and green accents throughout the home.
Updated cabinets and countertops breathe new life into the space, while a curbless shower and grab bars enhance accessibility and convenience.

We just returned from our vacation in the Midwest and school has just started here in California.
I want to share new and old photos from this yearly trip to a place that is over 100 years old and dear to my heart. The log cabins are an eclectic mix of rustic beauty, personal touches and I love seeing the unique features of each one.
As a designer, I'm so used to seeing new things that are installed with careful detail and precision. But when I visit Northern Michigan, I enjoy the silly quirks of every cabin like squeaky wooden floors, beach glass collections and rustic claw-footed tubs.
When you go on vacation, where do you you like to stay?
A. Lake or beach house
B. Middle of it all
C. Middle of nowhere
Personally, I love to get away once a year to the middle of nowhere. There's no cell phone reception and limited internet access so your brain can truly shut down and turn off.
My favorite things to do here is hike, shoot s***t and go blueberry picking. The beach is facing north and we get to enjoy the sunrise and sunset every day. Some days the waves are calm and the horizon is blurred, while other days white caps take over the lake and we can go body surfing.
Featured photos:
1. Fireplace with local sandstone
2. Screen porch late morning
3. My husband Cameron and I before dinner
4. Sunset
5. Blueberry picking
6. Puzzles in the cabin
7. Old Stonehouse on the lake
8. Family built cabin on the river
What is your favorite thing to do while on vacation? Share it with me in the comments. And don't forget to comment on your favorite photo!

✈️ We are closed for vacation over the next two weeks.
🌲 Every year we venture into the woods and enjoy some much needed rest and relaxation.
⛺️ There is limited WiFi and cell service and is encouraged not to use devices at all. We simplify by putting together puzzles, playing card games, hiking, swimming and camping.
🧘🏼♀️ This yearly vacation resets my brain, reduces the urge to be connected to social media and brings my family closer together.
🚣 By slowing down, enjoying the outdoors, walking 8 miles a day and worrying only about which hike to do and what’s for dinner (which is prepared in a group dining hall), I focus only on the basics, remember what’s important and what isn’t worth the stress.
🧗🏼♀️ I hope everyone gets a vacation every few months and gets a chance to reset. It’s how I function at my best as an interior designer, mother, wife and business owner.
👋🏻 See you in August!
I am working with a designer in Tuscaloosa and came across the super cute side table for the family room.

We are excited to announce our new buying services! Found a designer item, but don't have an interior designer? Email us the information and we'll send you a quote.
Most luxury interior designer furniture, accessories, fabrics and wallpaper are only sold to interior designers known as "to the trade". These aren't carried at any nearby stores and are difficult to purchase unless you have hired an interior designer for you project. But who has the money for all that?
If you found that special item, we can buy it for you with our access to exclusive designer only products and furnishings. Whether you're in California or across the country, we can help.
To get started, email us at [email protected] with the item name and manufacturer. We'll reach out with any further questions and send you a quote within 24 hours Monday-Friday.
I need a rendering!
I hear you. There are so many different types of renderings, styles and software programs. What are you looking for?
One of my clients asked for a rendering of her kitchen and primary bath, but after our discussion on the phone, what she meant was that she actually wanted elevations.
Here's the difference: Renderings in either 2D or 3D show colors, textures and sometimes furnishings of your home. They can be photo-shopped (like mine) or realistic (similar to the AI images you see circulating around).
Elevations are a 2-dimensional line drawing, straight on image of one wall. They can be exterior or interior. Sometimes they can show color and materials also.
This client is building a new home and reached out to me to provide an exterior rendering of the front of her home to help visualize what it would look like.
The second image is her inspiration. She wanted grey stucco mixed with wood paneling on a modern style home.
She sent me her exterior elevation, inspiration image and I got to work.
I sent her two examples and she sent me her corrections. After the third rendition, she was happy with the final result!
Need help visualizing your home? We can help. DM or email me to get started. We offer great e-design rates.

🌟 Vendor highlight!
Some of you may know that I worked in the San Francisco Design Center at the beginning of my career selling designer quality fabric and wallpaper to local interior design firms aka "to the trade". These items are only purchasable through an interior designer.
Today I want to highlight one of my favorite fabric vendors, Quadrille.

Fabrics are purchased by the yard and can be used for various applications (depending on the durability and content) including furniture, window coverings and decorative accessories like bedding and pillows.

🥳THANK YOU for growing my interior design account to attract 300 followers!!
I started my own interior design company Collected Interiors almost two years ago in June of 2022.
I was petrified! There are so many more things that go into owning a business than just just decorating pretty houses. Although I'm great at design, marketing, branding and starting a company from the ground up was HARD work.
Thank you to everyone who Likes, shares, comments and follows my interior design journey on social media. Each little ❤️ helps!
Thank you for supporting my small business (run by me, myself and I). If you haven't noticed, I absolutely despise reels 📽 and being on camera, but I promise to step outside of my comfort zone this year.
Thank you to all of my amazing clients, past and present. You are the ones who believe it me, trust me and support me.
If you want to contribute to helping my business please leave a 5-star Google review. You won't have to pay a dime!
I have so much more to share with you! ☺️ Thanks again!!!
Liz
Imagine this...
Your home is one giant puzzle. Yes I know, how strange, but hear me out!
A puzzle is composed of many different pieces just like your home has many moving parts. A kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, living room, office and the list goes on. Each room is ONE puzzle piece.
Now break down one room even further. Let's do the bedroom, which has many components, like a bed, rug, dresser, lamps, mirror and more. Each of these is one smaller puzzle piece that fits into the larger puzzle called your home.
When you go to change one piece, let's say your bedding, that changes the shape of your puzzle. Do the rest of the pieces fit? NO! Think about it. A blue, large scale patterned duvet cover WILL compete with the large scale pattern on your curtains (or pillows, or headboard, or rug).
As an interior designer, our job is to help you pick the pieces that all fit together. We look at the home as a WHOLE, not just individual pieces.
Large scale patterns should NOT be next to each other. We combine large scale with small scale in coordinating colors, styles and textures that FIT TOGETHER.
Now your puzzle piece fits.
Imagine changing just your bathroom walls, what happens to the rest of the house? All of a sudden you're overwhelmed because the rest of the puzzle pieces don't fit either and now you're changing the closet, bedroom and hallway! Before you know it, you're redoing half the house!
STOP! Before you go changing one piece at a time, think about the entire puzzle. "How will this piece affect what else is happening in the room? How does it affect my home overall?"
Make a plan, think it through and execute once you've figured our your complete puzzle.
Still having trouble? To book your call, simply send me a direct message or visit my website CollectedID.com for more details. I can't wait to connect with you and explore the endless possibilities for your dream home!
I know it's been a few weeks since I last posted. I'd love to share some of my favorite furniture and fabric vendors with you.
Introducing Woodbridge Furniture Co., my favorite source with a great variety of traditional and modern pieces.
Ever wondered about our production design process? When designing the Auden Finish, Celerie said “I want a true dirty blonde, if you could just match the color of my hair that’s exactly what I’m looking for” and viola, the Auden Finish was born. So if you see us next market with our heads on the table, just know it’s the product development team hard at work! 😂💁🏼♀️
How do I get started working with Collected Interiors?
Great question! First, we have you fill out a brief questionnaire about your project.
1. What services are you interested in? (These can be found under our Services page)
2. How much are you ready to invest? (Projects start at $10,000)
3. What are your goals?
Next we'll schedule a brief phone call to discuss your exact design dilemmas and review how we can help you.
If we want to move forward, we'll schedule a paid consultation (in person or remote) where you'll get professional advice, tips and discuss other recommendations.
If you don't want to continue to work with us, that's ok! We are here to listen to your concerns and offer as much input as we can during our consultation.
