Curly hair is hard, let’s talk about it… Do you ever find yourself wondering why your curly hair is frizzy, lazy or just down right not doing what you want? I hear you girl I’ve been there! Learning how to take care of your hair is a must whether you have strait or curly hair, but curly hair is not cookie cutter at all. So you cannot keep up curly hair the same way you keep up strait hair. Just like you don’t pet a cat the same way you pet a dog. It doesn’t work and it makes you alter your opinion of cats. And in the same way handling your hair the wrong way can make you dislike or alter your opinion of your hair. And no one wants to dislike their hair. Now I understand that hair No No’s can feel restricting/frustrating because it changes your routine. However, I can promise you your hair will have a tremendous transformation if you stop doing these things to your curly hair. 1.) Over washing your hair: As you know, curly hair is naturally drier than straight hair. The oil from your scalp takes longer to reach the tip of the strands due to the structure of the hair, and washing your hair every day or even every alternate day will leave your hair dry. I would recommend washing the hair with a shampoo, conditioner and stylers only once every 3-4 days and then refresh the hair as needed with just stylers. If you have a lifestyle that requires you to wash your hair often, then I would recommend considering using only a conditioner or using a co-wash. 2.) Brushing curly hair while it’s dry: The beauty of curly hair lies in its curl definition and volume. When you dry comb it not only are you disrupting this curl pattern but you are also introducing frizz in the hair. Hence dry combing is a strict no-no. (no pun intended)😅 For detangling I recommend using a wide toothed comb or your fingers. You should detangle when the hair is soaking wet and has conditioner in it. This will facilitate the comb or fingers to glide through the hair easily without
