Let’s break the stigma that surrounds kids in foster care.

The in between space. The journey. That’s where God is really at work. Shaping. Molding. Deconstruction so he can reconstruct. The in between place can be painful. Filled with second thoughts. Questioning. Doubt. But if God was good with what use to be, there would have been no need for Jesus.

Keep moving forward. Let the past be the past. Stop looking left and right and who is behind you or with you, but look ahead at what Jesus has in store for you. He’s paid the ultimate price for not so that we can understand our present, but so we could pursue our future! Step into your promise.

When did you know you were called to foster?

Summer loving! These boys loved getting to paint pottery this week! What fun activities have your kiddos done this summer?

Sometimes loving someone also means letting them go 😭

It’s ok not to be ok. But you’ll be better because if it. Often times I sabotage good things that are headed my way, because I’m more fearful of what will happen at the end if things don’t go “my way!” I’m slowly learning that sometimes “my way” isn’t always what is best for me. And that sometimes, being hurt and experiencing heartache actually propels me to a place I otherwise wouldn’t be if I had never done it at all. So, if you’re letting fear of giving them back, fear of getting too attached, fear of changing your whole life, keep you from jumping head first into what God is calling you to, just know, you’re missing out. And so are they.

Why did you choose to foster?

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?

My kids won’t eat a meal that I spend an hour cooking but devour frozen tacos and frozen fries that take 5 minutes to heat! 🤦🏻‍♂️

This is an eye opener for sure!

Never let the fear of failing keep you from flying.

I’ll never be a perfect parent, but I’ll always be a proud one.

Our 4 year old has been with us since early January. When she first came to us she would have small “tantrums” but they seem to keep growing now each time she has them. I’m sure I could avoid some of them by giving in to whatever is upsetting her, but that’s not healthy for her and sometimes that just isn’t possible. Tonight it was because she had to go to bed. I can’t just let her not go to bed. She has escalated to hitting and kicking and throwing things. Any suggestions how to help her? I try to sit by her calmly, and help her once she’s ready, but are there other suggestions? Is this normal?

Who knew that becoming a foster parent would also make me a pro-P.I.
