Taking care of your candle is important if you want it to last and burn properly. Here are some important things to do. 🔥

Important Candle Tip: THE FIRST BURN 🔥

The first time you burn your candle, burn it at least 2-3 hours before blowing out. This will ensure your wax has melted all the way to the edge of the container.
Doing this is VERY important because wax has memory. If you don’t melt the wax to the edge of the container on your first burn then tunneling will occur.
Your first burn sets the radius of the melt. If you create a tunnel on your first burn (candle pictured on left), the next time you light the candle, it will melt the wax in the tunnel first, making it deeper and continuing to leave unmelted wax around the edges. That’s why it’s so important to completely melt the first layer of wax on the first burn before blowing your candle out like the candle pictured below on the right.

AND always, trim or break off any burnt part of your wick each time before you burn your candle again. 🥰

Why do I use Wooden Wicks in my candles?

Well, they are easy to use and provide a nice crackle as your candle is burning. They create a flame that is horizontal so your candle will achieve a melt pool much quicker which means the scent will fill a room faster than with traditional candle wicks. There is also no mushroom and minimal carbon buildup while burning. They do not introduce additional smoke into your living space, that is, if they are used properly. When they are burned correctly, they can last for a very long time and burn without wasting wax.

To properly use your wooden wick candle it is very important to TRIM your wick each time before lighting the candle. By trimming your wick before lighting your candle, you will avoid having a large flame (aka bonfire). If you don't trim your wick before lighting it will cause smoking, sooting, turning the top of the candle wax a grayish black color, and form a wall of black soot on the inside of your vessel. The best way to trim your wooden wicks are to use a wick trimmer or nail trimmers. Always trim your wicks to a 1/4 inch before burning.

I can’t stress enough to PLEASE trim your wooden wick right before you light your candle EVERY SINGLE time! You’ll get a nice flame and your candle will burn nicely. 🔥
