Find things you love about yourself and celebrate them.

Stand tall because you are uniquely you and special.

Confidence is a choice you make. It's an energy you put out into the world, and it attracts that same good energy back to you.

There was a time I would get so excited by the arrival of my monthly issue of Harpers Bazaar or Vogue magazines.

Those days are gone, but I look back on them fondly.

I don't begrudge anyone who still enjoys them now. I also used to love watching E! online and following celebrities. I just don't care about that anymore.

I will say that whether it's celebrities, bloggers, YouTubers or TikTok stars, we shouldn't waste too much time comparing ourselves to others.

There is no such thing as balance.

It's a story we have been sold that simply isn't true.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don't get me wrong. I believe there is moderation, and occasionally you have things "balanced" in a way that feels good to you. But overall everything gets out of whack, things happen, our priorities change, there are emergencies and so on.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Are you beating yourself up about it?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Recently a friend who spent the last three months focused on a big project, was brought to tears because she found out her child has two cavities. In her eyes, she had neglected her duties as a mom and this was a big failure.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've been there- many times. We can't beat ourselves up about it. It happens, and it will happen again.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When it does, take a moment and evaluate the situation objectively. But don't get too down on yourself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Especially at the holidays, spend less time worrying and more time enjoying. That is exactly what I would tell my younger mom self.

A learns from her mistakes, is always trying to get better and gives herself and others grace too.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
