Jack Johnson's "All The Light Above It Too": A Cover Masterpiece
In the world of album art, Jack Johnson's seventh studio album, "All The Light Above It Too," shines brightly as a masterpiece in its own right. In this blog post, we explore why this album cover should be considered one of the best of all time, examining the thought-provoking story behind its creation and its profound connection to the music within.
A Masterpiece of Environmental Art: Jack Johnson's album cover for "All The Light Above It Too" is a true work of art, both in its composition and its message. The cover art is a mosaic created entirely from plastic trash collected in a single day on a Hawaiian beach. This powerful choice not only showcases Johnson's commitment to environmental consciousness but also reflects the themes that resonate throughout the album.
A Visual Journey: The cover art takes viewers on a visual journey, with Jack Johnson depicted lying in the sand, holding his guitar, and surrounded by a sea of blue and aqua-colored plastics. The effect is both captivating and jarring, as the artist appears to be enveloped by an ocean of discarded waste. This imagery immediately conveys the album's environmental theme, inviting listeners to explore the music with a heightened awareness of the world's plastic crisis.

My friend Meike Rm just recently attended a concert and wrote a wonderful review. After reading her review and viewing the photos, I had to listen the artistry of Misterwives. I am absolutely hooked on their music, Mandy Lee’s vocals, the band’s instrumentals, and the vibes they give.

Album covers have long been a crucial element of the music industry, serving as the first impression and an integral part of the overall experience for listeners. One such album cover that stands out as a masterpiece is the one adorning Sammy Hagar (The Red Rocker) and the Waboritas' 1999 release, "Red Voodoo." Crafted by Todd Gallopo (art design) and Storm Hale (photography), this album cover is a vibrant and visually striking work of art. In this blog post, I will delve into the reasons why the "Red Voodoo" album cover is considered one of the greatest of all time.
1. Vibrant and Captivating Colors
From the moment you lay eyes on the "Red Voodoo" album cover, you are immediately drawn into a world of vibrant and mesmerizing colors. The dominant blues and purples, punctuated by a luxurious gold trim, create an eye-catching contrast that commands attention. These colors not only represent the music's energy but also convey a sense of mystique and allure, inviting listeners to explore the album's contents.
2. Exceptional Design Hierarchy
One of the key factors that set this album cover apart is its exceptional design hierarchy. At the forefront of the artwork, we find The Red Rocker himself, confidently presenting the viewer with his signature cocktail, "The Warborita." This placement establishes Sammy as the central figure and frontman of the musical journey that awaits the listener. His charismatic presence and the way he holds the Warborita glass immediately capture your attention, making you feel as if Sammy is handing you the drink.

In the realm of reggae music, few bands have captivated listeners with both their auditory and visual artistry quite like Stick Figure. The reggae sensation, led by singer, songwriter, and producer Scott Woodruff, is not only known for their soul-stirring melodies and life-touching lyrics, but also for their visually enchanting album covers. Crafted by the gifted artist Juan Manuel

Album covers have always played a significant role in the music industry, often serving as the first impression of an artist's work. So when Billboard Magazine decided to compile a list of the "Top 100 Album Covers," it seemed like a promising venture. However, upon closer examination, it becomes clear that the list was far from perfect. Here are three reasons why Billboard Magazine's Top 100 Album Covers was, to put it bluntly, terrible:

However, upon closer examination, it becomes clear that the list was far from perfect. Here are three reasons why Billboard Magazine's Top 100 Album Covers was, to put it bluntly, terrible:
1. Ignoring Albums Beyond the Mainstream:
One of the most glaring issues with Billboard's list is its narrow focus on mainstream music. While it's true that many iconic album covers come from popular artists, the list completely ignores countless albums from less mainstream genres and artists. This omission perpetuates the notion that only commercially successful artists deserve recognition for their album art. In doing so, it disregards the countless underground and niche albums with truly innovative and striking artwork that deserves recognition.

Movie posters are important because they serve as powerful marketing tools, capturing an audience's attention and generating excitement for a film. They convey essential information, set the mood and tone of the movie, and create a lasting visual impression that can contribute to a film's success. Additionally, posters have become iconic pieces of art and cultural artifacts, holding value beyond their promotional function. They play a crucial role in building anticipation, engaging viewers, and establishing a film's brand identity in both traditional and digital marketing contexts.
“Whiskey Tears and Broken Hearts” is a poignant country album that encapsulates the raw emotions of heartbreak and the solace found in a glass of whiskey. The album’s cover art paints a vivid picture of the theme, featuring a beautiful, forlorn woman seated at a dimly lit bar, her tear-stained eyes glistening in the soft, amber glow. The empty chair next to her holds a glass of whiskey, its contents reflecting the dimly lit surroundings.
Stick Figure () has some of the most gorgeous and artistic album covers I have ever seen. And the songs on each album can really tell the story of the cover while the cover tells the story of what a listener is about to experience. If you have never listened to Stick Figure, do your ears and soul a favor and experience this music.
These are 25 of 's Top 100 Album Covers of All Time. Granted art is subjective, but still, whoever came up with this "Top 100" list was smoking crack at the time, or knows nothing of music that isn't mainstream. There were too many beautifully designed covers that did not make this list, and too many that should not even be near the word great.
The logo for Ink Wave Design Studio is complete and ready to go on to the new website. Keeping to the love of ocean, music and design, this logo has beautiful nautical greens and blues. The initials are taken from the original logo using Dream Big font and the company name and specialities in Montserrat. Sound waves lead into the I and exit the W (my tribute to my love for Pink Floyd). I am super proud of the logo.
Two of my favorite moments are seeing the reaction of an excited customer and seeing my design in print. I love how these turned out.
I absolutely love the art work of an album cover. A great cover can be the start to a great album.
This fictitious album cover keeps to a blue, yellow, and black color scheme. A long road is blended in with the glowing album title "Runaway." In the front-center is the lead singer of Steel Sirens (fictitious band name) with a blue/yellow gradient blended over her, which only adds to her rock'n'roll stare.
