Save the Date In order to stay upright, you need to look ahead to where youβre going so that your center of gravity stays aligned. The second you look down to your side, that center of gravity gets thrown off, and over you go.

π Happy Juneteenth! π Today, we come together to celebrate the historic and powerful day when freedom reached its final destination in the hearts and lives of enslaved African Americans.
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced the emancipation of slaves, marking the end of slavery in the United States.
On this special day, let us honor the resilience, strength, and indomitable spirit of our ancestors who fought for freedom and equality. Their legacy continues to inspire and guide us as we strive for a more just and inclusive society. β€οΈ
Today is a reminder that freedom is a universal right, and we must actively work towards dismantling all forms of oppression and systemic racism that still exist in our world. Together, we can build a future where equality and justice prevail. ππ
Let's take a moment to educate ourselves, listen to the voices of the Black community, and reflect on how we can contribute to creating a society that uplifts and empowers every individual. πππ½
On the last day of Mental Health Awareness Month, let's reflect on the importance of prioritizing our mental well-being. Taking care of our minds is crucial for a balanced and fulfilling life. When facing challenges or struggling with mental health issues, a therapist can be a transformative next step. They provide a safe and non-judgmental space to explore emotions, gain insights, and develop coping strategies. Finding a therapist starts with recognizing the need for support and reaching out. Seek recommendations from trusted sources, research online directories, or contact mental health organizations for guidance. Remember, reaching out for help is a brave and empowering choice on your mental health journey. You don't have to face it alone.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and as a person of color, finding a therapist who understands your experiences and cultural background can be an essential part of your mental health journey. Here are some tips to help you find the right therapist:
1. Seek referrals from friends and family members who share your cultural background or who have had positive experiences with therapists of color.οΏ½
2. Consider therapy directories and resources that specialize in connecting individuals with culturally responsive therapists, such as Therapy for Black Girls.
3. Don't be afraid to ask potential therapists about their training and experience in working with people of color. A good therapist will be open and responsive to your questions.οΏ½
Remember, finding the right therapist is a process, but it's worth it. A therapist can provide you with the tools and support you need to prioritize your mental health and well-being. If you're feeling overwhelmed or struggling, know that you are not alone, and it's okay to ask for help. Take care of yourselves, and let's work together to break down barriers and stigma around mental health in communities of color.

From inventors and entrepreneurs to civil rights leaders and activists, African Americans have played a vital role in shaping our culture and our society.
