Firmware notice for NETGEAR wireless access points

On 30th March, NETGEAR released firmware updates (v10.8.5.7 for WAX6xx series, v9.9.4.7 for WAC5xx series) for our Insight-manageable wireless access points. Following long-term stress testing of this firmware, it was found that access points running this firmware could, under certain conditions, encounter a memory leak. This was dependent on configuration and load on the access point. As result of this memory leak, some affected access points may have unexpectedly rebooted.

Out of an abundance of caution, we have recalled the affected firmware and have now published new firmware to address the issue. Please upgrade your access points to version v10.8.6.3 for WAX6xx series and v9.9.5.1 for WAC5xx series as soon as possible.

When not working on computers, quotes or researching new products, the Southeastern Computer Supply family is actively involved with fostering and supporting local South Carolina Animal Shelters.
Marceline is currently in foster from the Darlington County Humane Society. She is a middle-aged girl with some unfortunate health issues. A bad hip, heartworms, an ear infection and possibly some vision impairment. While her current health keeps her on a slow pace, she doesn't let her problems get her down. Marcy is a total lovebug, giving kisses and wagging her tail constantly.
Marcy is happy with a big comfortable bed, good food and a few tennis balls. She is well behaved with other dogs, is house-trained and only chews on her own toys.
