Summer is about to get into full swing, with vacations, family cookouts, and other outdoor activities! Lots of things happening here, in fact so much that I'm beginning to wonder if things are moving fast or am I just moving slow!?
Maybe it's a little of both, but here at my home studio, the glazing is almost finished, and it's time to start throwing ("turning" if you're old school) a new batch of pots!

Happy Father’s Day! My dad was a pretty serious fellow. He rarely broke out into a belly-roll laugh nor a huge wide grin, but when he did, he did it well! He was a proud Marine, first-landing Iwo Jima during WWII, but most of all he was a great dad.
Hat’s off to all you great dads!

The bottoms of flower vases and lidded jars are all waxed and ready to glaze! Choosing glaze colors should come in the initial planning stage, but I like to do things a little "up-side down" and wait until the bisque firing is done. The pieces will talk to me then and let me know what they want :) These are saying...well, never mind, I'll let it be a surprise.

It seems this time of the year, there's so much to do! Not only fun things, but chores that winter let us "sweep under the rug." You know, like window washing, repainting outdoor furniture...those kinds of things. For me, I'd rather make flower vases.

I've never been one to "ring in the new year." I like to stay with my routine, and wake up with a new appreciation of the day at hand. I love new beginnings, so this first day of a new year is just a day to dream up something different to do or finish what I've started.
