🔑 WE GOT THE KEYS 🔑 We LOVE the tingly, butterfly feeling our clients get once the keys are ready for pickup. The house is officially theirs! But wouldn’t the house be theirs once the contract has been signed? Not exactly! At least not in North Carolina. In the state of NC, the new deed must record with the Register of Deeds before the keys are handed out. Why? - Before the deed has recorded with the Register of Deeds, the home is still technically the property of the sellers! Until the property is officially recorded, the seller's names are still on the deed. Once the deed has officially recorded, we get a notification on our end *ding*, and we immediately call the buyer to let them know it’s theirs!

When your Estate Planning client makes their first mention of a spouse… 🙃🤣 It’s important to keep your attorney fully informed during the Estate Planning process so they are best able to tailor a plan to your needs. It’s difficult when a client waits until the plan is drafted to mention a spouse or kids because then it’s back to the drawing board! Moral of the story, keep your attorney informed. It’s our job to have your back! 💪
Over the weekend, Shepard Law had the pleasure of joining Keller Williams - Charlotte - University Office to cheer on KW's own, Bree Pittman, as she sang the National Anthem for the Charlotte Knights! How awesome is she!
"Home is not a place, it is a feeling." • We get it, home is where you feel comfortable, appreciated, and safe. Home is where the stress rolls off your back and the dancing shoes come on. Home is where laughter and love are unending. We love to help our clients secure that feeling. • Email your purchase contracts to [email protected] and we'll get you started on a smooth ride to closing day!
Why you should get an Estate Plan
📑 Why you should have an Estate Plan 📑
There's a common misconception that estate plans are reserved for the wealthy... WRONG! Estate plans do much more than facilitate generational wealth! (Don't get us wrong, we LOVE generational wealth)
An estate plan will establish child guardianship, medical and financial decision-making, asset distribution, and a lot more.
Did you know that the future of your assets and children would be decided by your state's Probate court if you do not have a Will? Who wants the State to govern the distribution of assets, or the guardianship & care of children?
Another common misconception is that only the elderly need to have estate plans... WRONG X2! If the Covid-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it's that the unexpected can happen at any moment, and it's up to us to be prepared!
Take control by providing a secure and determined future for your family. Call today at (704) 769-3100 or email at

Monday, the best day of the week to put your best foot forward! Sometimes our goals can seem too daunting or ambitious, but that's simply not true. It takes patience, persistence, and baby steps. Consider taking that baby step today. At least you'll begin to move in the right direction. Make today "Day one". You've got this! 💪 #motivationmonday
