While attending the IBBA - International Business Brokers Association conference in Louisville, KY this weekend I had the amazing opportunity to meet the legendary Scott Burrows, author of "Vision, Mindset, Grit: How to Stand Up When Life Paralyzes You". Scott's message resonated deeply with me for many reasons but especially in relation to the challenges faced by many of my clients and aspiring entrepreneurs.

In his book, Burrows emphasizes the importance of overcoming paralysis in the face of adversity, a message that couldn't be more relevant in today's economy and uncertain world. Too often, aspiring entrepreneurs find themselves trapped by their own fears – whether it's the fear of leaving the security of a job or the fear of failure. But as Burrows so eloquently puts it, true success lies in our ability to push through these barriers, embrace discomfort, and emerge stronger on the other side.

Burrows' message reminded me of a sentiment shared recently by Jensen Huang, founder of Nvidia, the crown jewel of the GPU and AI semiconductor market -and current stock darling of Wall Street. Huang believes that experiencing setbacks and suffering is crucial for personal and professional growth. He aptly stated, "I hope suffering happens to you," acknowledging that resilience is often forged in the crucible of adversity.

Within his own company, Huang embraces the concept of "pain and suffering" with enthusiasm, recognizing these challenges as opportunities for growth and character development. His belief that true greatness stems from one's ability to navigate through hardship rather than sheer intelligence deeply resonates with Burrows' philosophy.

Burrows' and Huang's messages serve as powerful reminders that no pain, no gain – and that it's through our struggles that we ultimately find success.

Leaving the conference today, I am feeling especially energized to continue on my path of inspiring others towards finding their own entrepreneurial Pluck- courageously, despite known risks or fear, with dogged determination. To find success, not in spite of our struggles- but because of them.
