Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2022
As we pause to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., our boys have been serving the community over the holiday weekend at the Salvation Army, Reflection Riding, and the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
"He who is greatest among you shall be your servant. That's the new definition of greatness. By giving that definition of greatness, it means everybody can be great. Because everybody can serve."

Dr. Duke Richey '86, Sen. Howard H. Baker, Jr. Chair of American History
You will always hear that at McCallie, teaching goes beyond the classroom–best personified by Dr. Duke Richey '86. During his time at McCallie, Dr. Richey hasn't just taught history; he has been a coach, a mentor, a friend, and a guide. His interactions in and out of the classroom have enabled him to build lasting relationships with students that leave a meaningful impact on both his life and theirs.
"The approachability piece, them seeing you as someone other than this authority figure. It's like, he knows a lot about this topic but, he is also fun to hang around. That is probably the secret sauce of this place."
-Dr. Duke Richey '86, Sen. Howard H. Baker, Jr. Chair of American History
