Had a fabulous interview this morning with on ! 🤍 We talked about the wedding industry and how to book for bridal hair! Such a fun experience!

Allow me to re-introduce myself ✨ I am Alexis, owner of The Big Tease Bridal! There’s nothing like being with a bride on the morning of her wedding 🤍 I love the experience so much! When I am not doing wedding hair, I am a wife and full-time mama of 2 boys, Ryker + Rowan. I also am the secretary and social media manager for the PTO, which is a much larger job than originally planned! Isn’t that how it always happens! Busy busy! We have 2 dogs, the famous .timee (Chihuahua) + Levi (Aussie). We also have recently rescued a cotton-tail bunny who had to be bottle fed, and then we bought him a cage, so apparently he’s here to stay! 🐰

A few random things - cause why not?!

• Dolly is the queen of all queens. “The higher the hair, closer to Jesus” is the motto. We have Dollywood season passes, that’s how serious the obsession is!
• I am as basic as it gets when it comes to true crime and Starbucks. I’ve probably listened to at least 1,500 hours of true crime podcasts at this point. You want to discuss Alex Murdaugh or the dyatlov pass incident- I’m your girl. If I didn’t do wedding hair, and liked school more than I do, I would want to be a prosecutor. Shout out , Brett and Alice are the GOATS.
• My Starbucks order is a matcha frappe with coconut milk 👌🏼 keep the whip

Heyyyyyyaaaa friends - it’s been a a whole lifetime since I’ve done an a proper introduction. So, here it goes. 👋🏼 I am Alexis, a hairstylist, makeup artist + bridal specialist based in Chattanooga, TN. I am officially OLD at a whopping 30 years. At home, I am surrounded by men, 1 husband, 2 sons, and 2 dogs. When I am not working, you can find me either at the baseball field, crafting, thrifting, or re-arranging furniture. Bridal + special event styling is my true passion. Being along side of brides on the happiest day of their life brings me immense joy and fulfillment! 🤍 I love nothing more than when a bride becomes a friend, as so many have!

✨UPDATE✨
After 7 years behind the chair, I am taking a step back + taking a breath. For now, I will no longer be accepting cut/color clients as of April 1st, 2023. I am moving out of my current salon space + am working on a brand new bridal studio for my bridal clients. Bridal hair is why I started doing hair and with the current boom in bridal bookings, I simply can’t continue to do both salon appointments and bridal appointments. I like to convince myself that I have no limits, but the truth is, I do, and for now I need to scale back and focus. I am only one woman, who wears many many hats, and for now I need to take some of those hats off.

I will miss my monthly therapy sessions with my incredible clients, who have over the years became friends, good friends. I have laughed and cried with all of you. We have rode the waves of life together and I am so thankful for you trusting me to do your hair for the past 7 years.

I am so looking forward to meeting my 2023/2024 brides! I love hearing about your life + how you fell in love with your soon to be husband. Marriage is beautiful. I can’t wait to continue to be a small part of the happiest day of your life 🤍

The truth of the matter is- blonde hair almost always has more dimension + shows more texture. When looking for inspiration photos, it’s best to find ones that are in your color range! A blonde style isn’t going to look the same on brown hair, or red hair, or black hair. Finding inspiration photos in your color range is the 🔑 to success!

Happy wedding day to all of the brides getting married today! It’s a beautiful day for it 🤍 I am off today since I have a wedding Sunday + Monday this week. I’m doing my best to stick to my *only one wedding a weekend* rule that I set for myself at the beginning of the year. Last year I was working 15 days in a row sometimes between color clients during the week and multiple weddings each weekend. This year, I’m feeling much less burnt out + much less stressed out - so it must be working! Xoxo

I’ve been in the LARGEST power pony mood recently - not for myself because I have 4 hairs left on my head after having babies but for my medium/thick hair ladies it’s the 👏🏼 perfect 👏🏼 style. Before you ask, I’ll go ahead and tell you. I am team 2 ponies stacked on top of each-other for added length, stability, and fullness. If you sit down in my chair and say, “I don’t care, do whatever you want!”… you’re getting a power pony!

It’s Monday, so it’s time to say HELLO! 🤍 My name is Alexis Holloway. I am a Hairstylist and makeup artist based out of Chattanooga, TN. My specialties are lived-in blonding + bridal hairstyling but I have a wide range of other clients as well! Our household consists of all men, other than me. One husband, 2 sons, and 2 boy dogs to be exact. We don’t play beauty shop at my house, it’s all about fishing in the creek, nerf guns, wrestling matches, and building forts with the couch cushions. I wouldn’t have it any other way! Someday, SOMEDAY, my house will be clean.

I work in a cozy500 sqft studio salon affectionately known as The Big Tease. The salon is very strategically placed within a 1/2 mile of both Chick-fil-A and Starbucks… cause ya know, priorities. On Saturday, every Saturday, you’ll find me working on-site at one of the many wedding venues around. Slinging bobby-pins + spraying flyaways is how I spend my day!

Can you think of someone who you absolutely love being around - When you leave them you feel refreshed, positive and in a better head space? On the flip side, can you think of someone who exhausts you - When you leave them you are drained mentally and need some time to recoup?

PAY ATTENTION TO THIS!

This is your body + your spirit telling you who is good for you and who is not. Sometimes we don’t even realize that something is wrong with a relationship, friend or romantic, until we are in a deep dark unhealthy mess. Pay attention to those little nudges in your spirit along the way. Your spirit reacts to other people in a certain way for a reason. Mental symptoms are just as important as physical symptoms. If being around someone throws you into a negative, or anxiety spiral - there is a reason.
