Tough break today for our Howards Cams team during Q2. We hurt it pretty bad, blew a window out, and split the blower. I am beyond happy and proud of what we accomplished this weekend. The car ran its best numbers ever and we lifted at 600 feet. We kept JR honest in round 1 and that’s what we were looking to do. Overall I’m happy with what we are seeing! When we found out there are only 16 cars, we decided to treat qualifying as a continued test session. Q1 it did exactly what we wanted and we are happy with that. I couldn’t be prouder of my guys and I’m looking forward to tomorrow! My team had a planned 300’ shut off on that run. We were going into this race with a brand new setup, so we wanted to get some data. Today we did what we wanted to do. Today we ran a 4.57, which was another career best. The car went out and nosed over during Q1, so I clipped it off early. We came back and began inspecting the car for engine damage, but we haven’t found anything too concerning.
