This will be an informal and unofficial deadlift meet to celebrate dia de los mu***os and raise funds for La Brocha.
La Brocha is a Chicago-based art collective comprised of artists, art therapists, and aging professionals who provide free art workshops to older Latino/e’s in Chicago’s southwest side. Check out their instagram page .
All are invited to participate, members and non-members, ages 18 and up, and all genders. Amateur and beginning lifters are highly encouraged to participate.

Adults ages 55 and better are invited to join us at the Museum on August 29th from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm for an art making activity followed by a slow looking exercise in the galleries. This month we will learn how to bind our own books, which we will then use inside our Nuestras Historias: Stories of Mexican Identity from the Permanent Collection exhibition, where we will spend time analyzing artwork and sketching in them.

We had a full house at our June workshop, and participants had a blast putting their own creative spin on their Frida Kahlo paintings!

The National Museum of Mexican Art in collaboration with Mather presents Viva la Vida, a monthly workshop series tailored for creative agers. Adults ages 55 and up are invited to the Museum on Thursday May 30th from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm for an immersive experience in the galleries followed by an art making activity. This month, we will highlight Arte Diseño Xicágo II: From the World's Fair to the Present Day, then create abstract artworks using watercolors, inspired by works in the show.
