Lake Effect Players

Hi friends! We are preparing for our next show, which should come to a stage hopefully near you in February or March. We are thinking again of doing two one-act plays, but we haven't decided on which ones yet. Any suggestions? The only requirement is, they have to be plays that can be staged with minimal sets. If you saw our summer production of "Trifles" and "Fourteen" you have an idea of what we have in mind.

It is with great pleasure that Lake Effect Players announce their summer show! We will be putting on two one-act plays: "Trifles" by Susan Glaspell, and "Fourteen" by Alice Gerstenberg.

Performances will be August 19 and 20 at a private venue in the Sauganash neighborhood of Chicago.

Hi everybody! We've been quiet but we are still around, and we are getting all our ducks into a row for our next production, which will hopefully be presented later this summer! More details to come as they are nailed down!

Hi friends, seats for our inaugural performance of The Hill: Excerpts from Edgar Lee Masters’ Spoon River Anthology are going fast. At present we still have a handful for the performance on Sunday night, February 5. If you want to come let us know soon!

Hi, everyone! We are back! Our debut performance, which was planned for Halloween weekend but canceled due to half the cast coming down with COVID, has been re-scheduled at last! We will be presenting The Hill: Selections from Edgar Lee Masters' Spoon River Anthology on February 4 and 5. See the Event on our group page for information on how to reserve your seat! (No admission charge but seating is limited so please make a reservation if you'd like to come.)

Hello friends. We are still here but the COVID situation did not work out as well as we had hoped, so it's looking like it might be a little longer before we can reschedule the show. But we are still eager to present it to you and looking forward to resuming rehearsals. In the meantime we got some new stage lights. We are not foolin' around.

Friends, we are (with heavy hearts) rescheduling our perormance of The Hill. We are dealing with a possible COVID exposure and want to be sure nobody in the cast has the plague before we perform for you. Barring catastrophe we hope to reschedule a few weeks further out. We will keep you posted and will post a new Event when we have things nailed down.
