Sweet Quill was found outside in September and lucky for him and for us he ended up in a very wonderful multigenerational foster home in Evanston. They decided to make it official and keep Quill in the family forever! Congrats to Peg and the rest of the Culhane family! We just adore you all to pieces- and so does Quill!
It's a Chicago Exotics Animal Hospital lovefest!!! We wouldn't be where we are or who we are today without this incredible team!

Hooray for returning adopters the Critch family and CLEAR alumni budgies Byerly and Ivy (and sparrow son Birdie) on welcoming Morwen and Gimli into their flock! Morwen and Gimli Have been with us since January and were our longest term residents. Can you believe it takes this long for parakeet pairs to find a home? We're so glad these budgies are going to be living their best lives with a fantastic forever family. π

It's not just Halloween, but it's also Diwali today! We hope you have a CLEARly amazing festival of lights! Happy Diwali!
Have a CLEARly amazing Halloween!!!
Alumni Update! Remember when a whole portion of the city was trying to catch a budgie on the beach? Well, let me reintroduce to George Hollywood!
George is doing great with the flock and has a lot of friends. He enjoys eating egg and cilantro with the others. And he now has a GIRLFRIEND! Her name is Luna. She was always the loner in my group and she came out of her shell when George came around. They groom each other, feed each other and he always follows her around to make sure she is ok. He was a great addition to our flock!
Congratulations on a whole year of awesomeness, George & co. π€©π₯³π
Happy Friday, CLEARies! Finch update... and...Adoptable Alert!!!
Meet Werther, Reese, KitKat, Hershey, Twix, and Musketeer
If you love sweet treats and fall feels with no tricks, then these Zebra finch boys are the perfect solution! After being dumped in an alley with nearly 20 other finches in October, these striped gentlemen are recovering from starvation, dehydration, and loss. You can adopt them in pairs or as a trio, and their soft meeps of cuteness will fill your home with contentment and joy.
Could these little meepers be the meeps for you? Consider filling out an adoption application today! clearescue.org/adoptapp/
Finchly Update!
We have begun to send some of the zebra finches from the massive rescue we staged 2 weeks ago home to households with prior finch experience and/or no other birds in the household. These little fluffs are receiving extra vitamins and minerals, a balanced diet, and a water additive to combat the health issues they presented upon arrival. We're so grateful to adopters Thistle and Lizzie, who both have had zebra finches in the past, for accommodating these sweeties!
(official adoption listing to come)
Adoptable Alert!!! Meet Quill π€©
Quill is a gentleman through and through! Found in Lake Forest in September, it is obvious that Quill was well loved before he got lost. He whistles an entire symphony of songs, and will sit on your shoulder to serenade you. Quill does have a limp, and may be on NSAIDs for the rest of his life- but he takes his medicine dependably. Quill's forever family will need to make sure that he has vet-wrapped perches, platforms, and shelves to rest on- but his impaired gait doesn't stop him from living his best cockatiel life. Do you have room in your heart and home for Quill?
Could Quill be the dapper gentleman you're searching for? Consider filling out an adoption application today! https://clearescue.org/adoptapp/

If you haven't been following the zebra finch saga... A good samaritan called the Chicago Bird Collision Monitors about 2 dumped cages in an alley... full of finches! We have been working tirelessly all week to get these little meepers up to finch speed and health. CLEARies, we can't do it without you.

Good morning, CLEARies! Today is National Pasta Day, and we'd love to tell you about Cortado! One of our current foster noodles. :)
Cortado is one of multiple ball pythons rescued from being dumped at a forest preserve in Skokie. A Cook County Forest Preserve police officer (who was previously afraid of snakes!) happened to be in the right place and at the right time to see this stunning lady moving across a deserted parking lot late at night. Thinking quickly, our police officer friend scooped Cortado up and kept her safe until CLEAR could respond. Although Cortado is a spider ball python, she does not exhibit any of the typical neurological or health issues that often accompany this genetic profile. We are so glad this gorgeous girl came to us, and we are sending her home with a complete enclosure so that she can stay safe and sound for the rest of her days.
Could Cortado be the sweet noodle for you? Consider filling out an adoption application today! https://clearescue.org/adoptapp/
Good Morning, CLEARies! Best wishes to Taylor and Swift, who have spent the past year brightening the lives of our friends at The Selfhelp Home . We are so glad for their forever family! Congratulations!
