At Street Level there are many good conversations but one of our biggest debates is connected to the name of our online zine…Mildsauce.
Who has the best tasting Mildsauce!?
For many Chicagoans it comes down to the two OGs, Harold’s on the south side and Uncle Remus on the west side.
Incidentally the two OGs at Street Level are on either side of the coin on this.
James is down with Harold’s Chicken.
Lisa prefers Uncle Remus.

So if your like our interns and staff at Street Level, then your always looking for new snacks. So many choices out there. One of our fave spots is Phodega @phodega . Interns and superheroes from ITW put together this taste test called “Bussin’ or Disgusting” as a way to hone their video production superpowers. Mmmm strawberry. Shout out to teaching artist Justus @jmajor_productions Our friends @itw22decisions . As well as Lisa Lust, James Duke, and Matt Woods.
We tested Pancake and syrup flavored peeps and we survived to edit the footage! Check out the reactions and let us know how you feel about peeps in the comments below.
We’re back with another taste test! This time interns from ITW Speer Academy are taking part in trying falafel for the first time. Since they had never tried falafel before we decided to go with one of Chicago’s best (and one our personal favorites) @sultansmarket. Check out the video to see their reactions

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of Sheridan Freeman. Sheridan lost his life in a shooting last Tuesday morning. He was an outstanding film maker with a mind for business. Throughout his years at Street Level he supported numerous projects and made genuine friends. We will miss him. We respectfully share this video in his memory."

#Repost @streetlevelchicago • • • • • • Street Level It seems like 10 years ago, so many things happened in 2020 but this was a highlight. A year ago young musicians at Street Level participated in a great conversation with @_colebennett_ about their passion and the music profession in Chicago as part of @bleacherreport’s NBA AllStar campaign that became a series of commercials that also featured other nonprofit organizations.
Street Level will drop some tutorials just in time for the upcoming cold winter months. GOATS Lisa, James, and other teaching artists share some skills that can be used on your cell phone, devices, or home computer.
Last year we asked our young people and alumni to describe Street Level for someone who may have never been. Check out some of the answers. To our young people, we miss you and look forward to the day when we can share space again.
