I have decided that I’m am taking an official hiatus from my Freelance Makeup effective January 1, 2022. This was a difficult decision because I have worked hard to establish myself for the last 12 years and truly LOVE being a part of the makeup community. Last year like others I was forced to pause work due to the pandemic, but at the beginning of 2021 as people were starting to re-book their events my Dad’s health declined and on May 8th he passed away. While requests had been coming in and continued to all spring/summer (mostly from brides) I just was not in the headspace to take on any of these bookings and referred them elsewhere…..Unfortunately I still feel this way.

A wedding is one of the most special days someone has and I cherish being a small part of that for every client and friend I’ve been lucky to work with. Being such an important person for a bride on her wedding day, happy and chipper for her friends and family feels overwhelming to me right now. I do more than bridal work, but that type of work has become the bulk of my business.

Since my Dad’s passing I’ve been going through a roller coaster of grief. Life is happening all around me as it should be, but I’m stuck in a very fresh state of learning to live without a parent. I wake up 5 days out of the week and show up for my “9-5”’job, but my Freelancing I get to control. So instead of trying to force myself to take these booking requests or feel guilty for not being up for it, I need to step away.

I hope to find my way back to Freelancing in some capacity in the future and/or another path in the makeup/beauty space when I’m ready. For now my head and my heart is just not into it. Till then should you need a Bridal Makeup Artist I have many talented friends to refer you to and I am happy to help you connect with them or offer product advice. I’m just not booking work.
