Featuring current and past HCL artists with a live performance by Corey W. Smith, Lional “Brother El” Freeman, Regina Martinez, Allen Moore, and Juliann Wang. The festival is FREE so mark your calendars for September 9 and show your support for HCL artists from 11am-3pm! The free, all-day event is the kick-off to Harris Theater’s 20th anniversary season and will feature additional performances featuring ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance, as well as classical music, opera, and interactive workshops hosted by participating artists. We are honored to be among the Fall 2022 recipients. Thank you Ruth Foundation for the Arts! Supported by the late Ruth DeYoung Kohler II, Ruth Arts launched earlier this year with a unique nomination process guided by 50+ artists, providing funding to nonprofit arts organizations nationwide.

We're excited to announce that HCL 2023 Artist in Residency (AIR) application is open now! Applications open Tuesday, August 16th, 2022 and close Sunday, September 25th, 2022 [11:59PM CST] Portal to the application webpage: https://highconceptlabs.org/2023-air-application Entering its 14th year serving multidisciplinary performance artists, the HCL AIR program provides: 12 months support, January 1, 2023 - December 31, 2023 $1000 cash stipends Customizable support based on the needs of each artist, which can include: -Rehearsal, workshop, and performance space -Administrative and producing assistance -Marketing, communications, and design support -Photo and video documentation, and optional camera equipment kit loan -Strategic networking for partnerships, funding, and creative collaborators -Individual artist grants application assistance -Teaching, skillsharing, panel, and workshop opportunities -Field-based or cross-disciplinary mentorship HCL aims for transparency throughout the selection process. Prior to completing the AIR application, we strongly encourage individuals to review the [Eligibility Guidelines] and the [Evaluation Criteria] on the application webpage.
