Although this isn't exactly our housemade recipe, it's pretty darn good. The one-pot recipe uses just a few spices and yields a flavorful, homemade dal. The aroma is incredible, and it only takes an hour to cook. Not bad for a delicious homemade dal recipe!
Ingredients:
1 cup dal (yellow moong), rinsed
1 small onion, chopped
1 tsp ginger, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp red chili powder (adjust to your spice level)
1 tsp salt
3 cups of water
2 tbsp cilantro chopped for garnish, optional
