Good morning
Enjoy a lovely, musical Spring day with the Chicago ARS on April 21st!
Join us at 1:00 PM when Nancy Chabala presents music for krummhorns and other capped reeds. (It’s been a while since we’ve played them.) Recorder folks don’t despair! All the music works perfectly fine for mixed consort, including recorders. And for those who have always had a secret yen to try one, Nancy has SAT’s and one B to loan. Music will be on the website or provided at the meeting.
In Lisette’s session from 2:00-4:00, we will have a final opportunity to rehearse and run through Glen Shannon’s Friendship Canzona (before performing it at the Spring Concert!) and also explore Priuli’s 17th century, 7-part Canzone and selections from Challinger’s Ballad, Blues, and Riffs.

Join us for our annual Yuletide Concert on December 17th at 1 PM!
All are invited to participate in the 1 PM concert, performing or listening. All will be welcome to play, but contact us ahead of time to be included in the printed program.
The traditional holiday treats table will be featured after the concert portion of the meeting. Feel free to bring some holiday edible to share!
We will then close the meeting with some group playing of music to be provided by the chapter.

Tomorrow, Sunday, November 19: the Chicago Chapter meeting, led by Lisette Kielson
At 1 PM: Lisette will include technique and musical selections in preparation for our participation in University of Chicago’s Folk Music Festival (Feb 10th).
At 2:00, Lisette will lead us in exploring a Bach Fugue, a Guami Canzonette, and hold our final rehearsal of Peter Beck’s La Marche des Rois for our performance in the Yuletide Concert in December.

Meeting is at at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2012 West Dickens, Chicago.
Enter either door of the parish building west of the church and go to the large fellowship hall.

Join the Chicago Chapter on Sunday, October 15, at 1 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church, when we will start with an hour of directed group playing.
Then at 2 PM Lisette Kielson returns, with two early Renaissance trios, an arrangement of Machaut’s Douce Dame, a march by Strauss and another march by one of our own chapter members!
