πŸš€ YG students are on the path to success! Our amazing Project Prepare, @Work, TFI, and Project Prepare Blue students spent their summer gearing up for their future careers. One of the highlights? Getting their professional headshots taken! πŸ“Έ They also took part in valuable career development sessions, including mock interviews, planning for a professional shopping spree, picking out professional attire, and setting ambitious goals. Career readiness starts early, and at Youth Guidance, we’re dedicated to guiding our students toward brighter futures! If you think these headshots are career-ready, drop a πŸ“Έ in the comments!

We hosted our Mural Launch Party at the Kennedy Rooftop with a beautiful view of our 100th anniversary mural on Wintrust’s building on Chicago’s Kennedy Expressway. Thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate the launch of the Wintrust and Michael Harris for giving us space to share our 100th anniversary mural and to mural artist, Barrett Keithley Art! #100years #BrightFutures

They say kids spend too much time on screens, so our staff at Curis Elementary School of Excellence decided to do something about it! πŸ“΅ Our BAM and WOW students had an amazing time during their field day. πŸŽ‰ The event featured old-school carnival activities like Limbo, Sack Race, Skee-Ball, Tug of War, and Egg Relay. We partnered with Peter Lee from Bust of Flames Entertainment, who provided everything from DJs to food vendors to party favors. 🎈🎢 The kids had a great time and danced the entire day! πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί Less social media, more social engagement. Mission accomplished. βœ…

Youth Guidance joined Strides for Peace and 39 other anti-violence non-profits in Chicago for the Race Against Gun Violence. Community members gathered in Grant Park to stand in solidarity, united in our efforts to make Chicago a safer place for everyone. Some participants walked while others ran or jogged! We were fortunate to connect with other community organizations such as Chicago CRED, Metropolitan Family Services, and Strides for Peace. It was great running into Arne Duncan, Ric Estrada, Vaughn Bryant, and Jason Eliason! The Race Against Gun Violence was a tremendous success! Strides for Peace is dedicated to increasing the collective impact of nonprofits working to create a Chicago where all can thrive, free from the fear of gun violence, and work to empower community organizations, promote collaboration, and amplify solution-driven dialogue of those on the frontlines of ending gun violence. #EndGunViolence#100yearsofImpact #MentalHealthMatters #HealingCommunities

The 30th Anniversary of The Parent Leadership Conference is this weekend. Have you ever thought about how it all began? Della, our esteemed Senior Manager for Parent and Family Engagement, was deeply motivated to create this incredible event after attending a training program at Yale University focused on the Comer Project. For three decades, she has turned her dream into reality with the Parent Engagement Team. Not only are they achieving remarkable success with the conference, but they are also making a significant impact in our communities by providing assistance to both students and parents! We express our gratitude to Della and the Parent Engagement Team for the exceptional work they carry out! #100yearsofYG #PLC
