Assata's Daughters
Assata's Daughters organizes young Black people in the Black Radical Tradition. Based in Washington
Assata's Daughters is an intergenerational organizing collective of radical Black women located in the city of Chicago. We identify our work as part of the larger Black Lives Matter movement. Our community programs aim to escalate, deepen, and sustain this movement for collective liberation.
At Assata's Daughters (“AD”), we organize young Black people in Chicago who will organize their communities to build a world that prioritizes care and collectivity. Five days a week, we provide a space for them to sit in circle together, learn together, train together, break bread together, organize together, support each other, and form the type of bonds that not only can sustain them for a lifetime but that drive them to want to build the type of self-determining community where we keep each other safe and meet each other’s needs.
In the tradition of the generations before them, young people are rising to meet the moment and confront oppression on all fronts. Political homes, where they can learn, grow, build community, and organize with their peers, are more important now than they have ever been. Please consider supporting AD, an organization dedicated to providing a political home for young Black people in Chicago, on this and donate below today.
