I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to update you on my recent absence. As many of you know, living with lupus can sometimes mean needing to take extra time to prioritize our health and well-being. With my cancer diagnosis and lupus flare help I needed a break to reset. I’ve been focusing on self-care and managing my symptoms, which has required me to step back for a little while.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time. Your support means the world to me, and I’m grateful to be part of such an amazing community.
As I plan my return, I want to ensure that our community continues to be a valuable and supportive space for everyone. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the type of content you’d like to see more of in the future. Whether it’s educational posts, personal stories, tips for managing symptoms, or anything else, your input is incredibly important to me.

Lupus is a debilitating autoimmune disease where your immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells in your body. Lupus is more common, and is more severe in African Americans. I have lived with a diagnosis since 2007 and experienced many lows but also many highs.

✨💪 Managing lupus involves a combination of self-care, lifestyle adjustments, and medical treatment. Here are some tips to help keep lupus at bay:
1️⃣ Prioritize rest: Getting enough rest is crucial for managing lupus fatigue. Listen to your body and rest when you need to.
2️⃣ Stay active: Gentle exercises like walking, yoga, or swimming can help maintain flexibility and strength, which is important for managing lupus symptoms.
3️⃣ Eat a healthy diet: A well-balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can help support overall health and manage inflammation.
4️⃣ Manage stress: Stress can trigger lupus flares. Practice stress-reducing activities like meditation, deep breathing, or hobbies you enjoy.
5️⃣ Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water can help flush out toxins and reduce the risk of kidney problems, which can be a concern for people with lupus.
6️⃣ Follow your treatment plan: Take your medications as prescribed and attend regular check-ups with your healthcare team.
