Finally added the lamp wiring. Need a smaller shade, but at least I can see my vision of how I hoped it would look for a lamp.
Now to design a new creative piece in the studio soon.
If you’ve wondered why I haven’t posted in a while…… I have been really sick with and upper respiratory infection. I’m not out of the woods yet, but feel confident I will be better soon. I look forward to getting back in the studio again.
So many new ideas too.

Final touches. Firing to bisque stage in morning. Cool down will be all day Friday. Hoping to add clear glaze on Saturday and fire on Sunday for glazing stage in the kiln.

Indian Blanket Wildflower lamp base. Ready to dry for the week and be fired to bisque.
I think my whimsical cactus handmade flower vase is just about ready to rest now and dry. I will soon be firing this piece in a week to later hand paint the details.
Added a few cactus branches and cactus flowers. Will be sculpting more once pieces dries a bit more.

Bisque firing completed. Very happy with results. Now to clear glaze and fire again tonight.

Many hours of work, but slowly I am adding underglaze to create the Indian blanket flower beverage tumblers.

I love the feel of nature in my work.
My very first kiln firing in my home based pottery studio. Firing will begin at 7:00 am. The firing takes 8 hours then another 8 hours to cool down. So Wednesday morning should be exciting to see how it all turns out. Please say a prayer for glazing success.

Today I worked at home in my garage studio to hand paint glazes on a few mugs. More to do, but it’s a start.

Today I traveled to Tulsa to do a bit of glazing and picked up a few pieces.
I just love these stacked bowls I made. All about measurements when making these bowls to ensure they fit inside each other.
Canisters finally came out of studio kiln.
It took me far too long to get back into Tulsa studio while working on our kitchen, but I completed the trimming and handles on these mugs. Now let’s pray that these make it through to the next stage.
Greenware Stage is now in drying phase.
Next stage will be its first firing to a bisqueware stage.
Not trying to be cool wearing my sunglasses…. Can’t see without my prescription glasses and I left my regular glasses at home. Oops 🕶
Taking this Saturday to work on mugs. It takes time for hands to develop muscle memory when doing a different shape.
Now to allow clay to rest all wrapped up and attach handles later this week.
