Happy 83rd birthday to composer, singer, songwriter, and actor Paul Williams who was born on this date September 19, 1940 in Omaha, NB.

He is known for writing and co-writing songs performed by a number of acts in the 1970s, including Three Dog Night's "An Old Fashioned Love Song" and "Out in the Country", Helen Reddy's "You and Me Against the World", Biff Rose's "Fill Your Heart", and the Carpenters' "We've Only Just Begun" and "Rainy Days and Mondays". He also wrote "Cried Like a Baby" for Bobby Sherman.

Williams is also known for writing the score and lyrics for "Bugsy Malone" (1976) and his musical contributions to other films, including the Oscar-nominated song "Rainbow Connection" from The Muppet Movie, and writing the lyrics to the #1 chart-topping song "Evergreen", the love theme from the Barbra Streisand film A Star Is Born, for which he won a Grammy for Song of the Year and an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Williams had a variety of high-profile acting roles, such as Little Enos Burdette in "Smokey and the Bandit" (1977) and the Swan in Brian De Palma's "Phantom of the Paradise" (1974), which Williams also co-scored, receiving an Oscar nomination in the process.Since 2009, Williams has been the president and chairman of the American songwriting society ASCAP.

Well .. the time has Sadly come .at the end of June our great friend, creative partner, and incredible bass player , Avery weissman is moving to Lancaster,PA . It has been our honor to have Avery as a Part of the East Hill Garage family for the past 4 years. Well wishes to Avery in all of his future endeavors . There will always be a seat at the table for you my our brother.

After a satisfying gig, it’s nice to hear a good review…

“Wow and WOW! I don't know where I've been, maybe under a rock? But I had the chance to listen to East Hill Garage Band for the first time yesterday, and I don't think I could pick a favorite tune if I had to. What a fantastic line of talent, and very unique and interesting compositions coming from the combinations of that talent and what each brings to his instrument. Was that a Flugelhorn? Somewhere between a trumpet and trombone-sounding horn? Very cool mix with surprising effects. Just completely entertained the whole way through! I'll be keeping my eye out for you guys. I want to hear more.Yes, it was my first time and definitely NOT my last. I saw Stu’s son Avery play for the first time too. Excellent! The thing that strikes me about this band is that they are each being so creative individually, all with Eddie’s strong vocal delivery, and there are delightful surprises all along the way. Bravo!”
