Residents have expressed concern about how they can help those who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. The HOA has been contact by the Red Cross about a local opportunity.
Due to Hurricane Sandy, the Red Cross has had to cancel over 300 blood drives in the northeast. They are in need of all blood types in order to help replenish the supply to area hospitals and patients. The Red Cross would greatly appreciate your help in supporting a local blood drive.
The blood drive is tomorrow, November 10th from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Damascus Community Preschool (United Methodist Church) at 23425 Spire Street, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
To participate:

** Reposting a note from our Community Management **
The Management Office Staff hopes all residents are safe and that their homes did not suffer damage due to Hurricane Sandy. During inspections of the community, we have noted some gutter and siding debris in the common areas and we will attend to getting these materials cleaned up as soon as the weather cooperates and our contractors are available. If you see damage in the community, please feel free to contact our office at 301-444-8680 or via email at [email protected] Our office will close at 5:00 pm today and re-open tomorrow, Wednesday, October 31 at 1:00 pm.
As remnants of the storm continue, residents should be reminded of the following:
** Not to drive through high water and be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize flood dangers, downed wires and other hazards.
** When approaching a traffic signal without power, State law requires motorists to treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
** Montgomery county 311 (240-777-0311 from a cell phone) will be open continuously for the duration of the storm. Call 311 for questions regarding County Government services, programs and/or issues, or go to www.MC311.com for online help. MC311.com is available on smart phones.
** Call 911 in the event of life-threatening emergencies or call 301-279-8000 for police-related non-emergencies.
** Please be reminded that if your recycling is usually collected on Wednesday, your collection day this week will be on Friday. If your recycling usually collected on Thursday, your collection day this week will be on Saturday. Trash will be collected on Friday as usual.
