Clarksville nonprofit to open new transition home for children in DCS foster care A group of Middle Tennessee organizations are preparing to open the doors to a new transition home for children in foster care.
This is a person to watch! is very humble and somewhat lowkey, but is making a major impact! I’d seen him around for a while and just recently got the opportunity to connect with him personally.
I had already admired him, but the conversations solidified it - if that makes any sense. He’s really open, which makes it easy and comfortable to do the same.
This latest article of gives you insight into Richard. He’s really doing the work and is “that guy”.
—As the mother of 2 creatives, it took me a long time to recognize some of things that Richard mentions. I would say to them to create to build a portfolio then you can make a living in the future - and I’m so glad my husband and kids all pushed back.
One day explained to me how creating worked and how it needs inspiration to be great. I was confused because why can’t you just “get inspired”?
As Richard said, the art then becomes disingenuous. It starts to erode the quality of the art- which is then just for consumption.
Not all heart is to be consumed. Sometimes art is created because it is art, not because it has a purpose. It is to be created, because that is external manifestation of the passion and the emotion and the love and expression that you want to make tangible.
because of the capitalistic nature of the world today, we are deprived of many true artists because it is not an easy task to juggle your creativity with the needs of your day today, without being too preoccupied to genuinely create or even want to create.
Richard says that poverty is littered with creative mind. That sentiment hit really hard!
And, in some forms, Hope is a source of brutality and torment.
I know this is a super long post, but I hope you read it.
You need to know
Art and artists are suffering because of poverty and our economic state.
Art is an important party of life and without it we all suffer.
Read the dang article!
I am ready to face any challenge that is enough to face me.
