NAIFA-Tennessee Grassroots Doubles the Impact NAIFA-Tennessee is celebrating after their grassroots efforts helped stop legislation detrimental to the industry.

NAIFA Tennessee day on the hill was a marathon! Tyler Mayes, Alexis Lynne Goines, Tori Chaulk, and Shawnee bledsoe worked the hall to educate law makers on the dangers of HB- 2148 before it goes to subcommittee next week. The bill ultimately gives funeral directors the ability to get access to their customers’ private life insurance policies. The conflict of interest it creates can ultimately result in price gouging of vulnerable, grieving families if the deceased had a robust life insurance policy, and costs should not be increased based on the size of someone’s life insurance. It great to hear from State Representative Brock Martin, Senator Pody, Senator Jack Johnson, Sabi Doc Kumar, State Rep Bo Mitchell, and a few others! We were able to meet with Jeff Burkhart, State Representative, Senator Bill Powers, State Representative Curtis Johnson and State Representative Ronnie Glynn! Thanks guys for being such a gracious hosts, and for taking the time to meet with us today!
We also got a chance to talk with them about our project for Mayor Wes Golden we’ve been working on to educate the community on the importance of renters and home insurance! Can’t wait for our big reveal!

Our NAIFA board hard at work! We’re working on a really amazing project with Andrew Hanson Photography! He’s helping NAIFA-Clarksville?with a project tasked to us by mayor Wesley Golden in the aftermath of the tornado. The idea is to help members of the community better understand the role insurance plays in a major disaster, and to help educate folks on the necessity of renters insurance. Can’t wait to share it with the community!
