Two Vikings are headed off to college to pursue their futures and continue their wrestling careers. True Viking Excellence on display!
Kevin Shaw and Henry Williams really poured it on this year. These captains led their team off and on the mat. They continue to lead even as they head off to college by showing us all the way forward. NWW is beyond proud of you both.
Tonight was my final event as the head coach for the Northwest Wrestling Family. I took over this team 6 years ago and worked my hardest to ensure that both teams continued to excel. I want to thank everyone for their support and encouragement throughout the years. This was one of the greatest jobs I have ever had. I made a lot of great relationships and got to mentor some of the greatest kids that will grow up to be our future leaders. Thanks again it’s been a great time!

Sally did amazing this week and finished the NHSCA National Wrestling Tournament with a 4th place finish. Sally has only been wrestling for 2 years and is competing at a top tier level! We are very proud of all you have accomplished Sally J!
We have an All American. Sally wrestled 42 of the toughest girls from across the United States and Territories at the NHSCA National Tournament in Virginia Beach. She will be wrestling for 3rd and 4th tomorrow morning. We are so very proud of you!
Your Lady Vikings got recognized tonight at the CMCSS School Board’s Point of Pride Celebration. They recognized the ladies on placing 3rd at State Duals and they recognized Shyanne Michalski for placing 3rd individually and Sally Johnson for 2nd individually. There were a lot of girls that couldn’t make it tonight but I promise it’s because they are out doing big things!
Dream Team
Our Lady Vikings had another milestone last night. We traveled to MBA for the MTWOA Dream Team Award Ceremony where Shyanne Michalski was named Middle Tennessee’s Female Wrestler of the Year. Shyanne’s leadership, work ethic, and tenacity have brought her so far in only 4 years. I couldn’t be more proud of all she has accomplished on and off the mat. Congratulations, Shyanne I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings you!
The last and as far as I know only other person to win this award was Cooper Palmieri.
This is a shoutout from the rooftops for these two amazing individuals. Sally Johnson and Kevin Shaw were both named Athlete of the Month for February. We are very proud of you and all your accomplishments this year!
We have another milestone for the Northwest Lady Viking Wrestling Team. Sally Johnson competed in the High School National Tournament in Iowa this weekend and she placed 3rd and earned the title of All American. She joins Jeff Lloyd, Catherine Palmieri, and Brette Spink who are the only wrestlers that we have records indicating that they earned the title of All American.
A huge shoutout to our ladies and gentlemen of Northwest Wrestling! We had 10 NWCA Academic All Americans. The requirements for this honor were a 3.6 GPA and have been a varsity wrestler that finished the season.
We also had 3 NWCA Character and Leadership All Americans. The requirements for this were being a Junior or Senior on the wrestling team and have made a huge impact on the team as a leader through their character and lead by example mentality.
The individuals don’t know who they are yet and they will find out at our end of season banquet!
We love Coach Andi Jones
