I’m in the beginning stages of a new project & I thought it would be fun (and motivating) to recount some of my favorite photography projects over the years. I also realize I’ve never shared many of these publicly!

This project was for Power And Grace Preparatory Academy, my son’s school when we lived in Tennessee. The principal shared her dream of having a photo similar to the one taken of Mary McLeod Bethune in 1904 when she served as a pioneer and started her school in Daytona, Florida —a source of inspiration.

I came to the school to take the photo—my favorite part was probably the look of pride on my son’s face seeing me there doing my job. After the session and processing the photos, I ordered the large print they could display in the school.

On a personal note, we love PGPA. We’re so thankful for the love, personal attention, and the solid Biblical & academic education Trey received while attending; he still recalls his time there with fond memories. If you’re looking for a school in that area, I highly recommend PGPA. -Kirsten A. Harr
